SaaS Provider MTC Taps Channel Vet To Take Reins

MTC Performance Wednesday named Harry Zoberman president and CEO, putting the longtime channel executive in charge of all the Schaumburg, Ill.-based SaaS provider's business operations. Zoberman will report to MTC founder and chairman George Kriza.

"Harry has tremendous experience running a significantly large operation, and has sales and marketing experience and all sorts of things that are all going to play to our advantage," Kriza told Channelweb.

Kriza said he will remain active as "one of the primary faces of the company" and will be "extremely active in product design." Zoberman said what led him to accept the MTC opportunity was "having lived inside the head of the VAR community for so long."

"I've been selling IT products and have been deeply engaged with manufacturers, software developers and everyone else for the better part of the past two decades," Zoberman said in an interview with Channelweb. "I'm always after 'how do we work better together,' which is a fun challenge to have. Where MTC is engaging even more deeply is right in that intersection of aligning each other's interests and driving business successes without adding these layers of complexity that seem to creep into strategies."

Zoberman spent 17 years, most recently as senior vice president of marketing and operations, with ASAP Software, Buffalo Grove, Ill., which was acquired by Dell in November 2007. Before his appointment to MTC, Zoberman was most recently a full-time consultant to Sterling Capital Partners of Northbrook, Ill.

Zoberman and MTC are gearing up for the release of SpiffCentral 3.0, the updated version of MTC's process management solution SpiffCentral.

"We're about to bring to market a new dimension [of the program] that will be more scaleable, more open, and help the vendor community by more directly tying to solution providers and the people who influence buying decisions," Zoberman said. "We think the MTC solutions are already there, and we have a lot of clients who believe the [same]."

MTC in January 2008 entered into a strategic partnership with Everything Channel (formerly CMP Channel), which also owns ChannelWeb. Zoberman is also an editorial advisory board member for CRN magazine (an Everything Channel property), and has previously served on channel advisory councils to Microsoft, McAfee, Lenovo and others.
