Microsoft

The software giant identified Accenture, Avanade, Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, Compaq Global Services, Compuware and KPMG Consulting as key partners deploying BizTalk enterprise application integration solutions. Eric Swift, lead product manager for BizTalk Server Adapter and Partner Strategy at Microsoft, said the B2B server has been adopted by 800 customers in its first year on the market.

Compaq Global Services, for example, has deployed a number of BizTalk solutions through its Compaq iOrchestrator suite of application adapters, Microsoft said. Compuware, another large systems integrator, has pitched BizTalk as a tool for integrating applications as well as exchanging partner information through a common XML interface.

In recent months, Microsoft has unveiled a series of BizTalk adapters and accelerators designed to speed adoption of the server in vertical markets.

Last week, Microsoft said Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance adopted BizTalk Server 2000 to create its first Web services application, called FirstCheck. FirstCheck is an extensive online credit reference solution that allows Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance clients to check the credit rating and payment performance of customers and partners, according to Microsoft.
