ScanSource Creates Separate Units For Avaya, Intel CTI Distribution

ScanSource

Both units will sell teleconferencing equipment from Polycom and will operate as separate entities from the Greenville-based distributor's automatic data collection and point-of-sale sales unit named ScanSource, the company said.

ScanSource has distributed Avaya, formerly Lucent Technologies, converged communication products since 1997 and Intel products since Intel's purchase of Dialogic in 1999.

Clay Sorensen was named president of Paracon.

"Our goal is to be the premier value-added distributor to solution providers in the converged communications marketplace," Sorensen said in a statement. "Paracon will be focused on providing technical support, training, configuration services, marketing tools and other solutions that specifically serve their needs. Further, our focused management, merchandising, business development and sales teams will all be working to provide converged communications dealers with the personalized attention they require. We also look forward to a strengthened partnership with manufacturers like Intel as we approach the future."
