Partnerships will be crucial to finding success in thegrowing big data space, according IBM’s senior vice president of analytics, Robert Picciano.
Picciano referred to IBM’s own partnerships with Apple, the Weather Co., Twitter and Box as crucial to its analytics strategy.
’These are partnership we started because we think they deliver insight products on top of important data,’ he said. Picciano elaborated on the added value analytics will have in the weather industry, as well as with the raw and unstructured data provided through Twitter and widely used iOS applications.
’The general trend here is that you need to have partnerships as well that really bring together these exiguous data sources to really provide, you know, insights and new transformations for the markets and for problems that you’re looking at solving,’ Picciano said.
The IBM analytics expert said the ability to link analytics with broader business processes is incredibly important. ’Which is what we did with Box,’ Picciano said.
