Datapipe Tightens Cloud Security With PCI Compliant Cloud

Cloud managed service provider Datapipe cloud security fears

The Jersey City, N.J.-based cloud managed services and infrastructure player said the PCI-compliant cloud is now publicly available and couples a custom PCI-certified cloud infrastructure with a suite of managed security services to enable PCI compliance.

"Security remains a significant roadblock to enterprise adoption of the cloud," Datapipe CEO Robb Allen said in a statement. "This product is a leap forward in eliminating those fears and enhancing our capabilities as the managed service provider for the enterprise."

Datapipe's layering of its enterprise grade managed security services on top of its PCI-compliant cloud will allay some of the fears clients that require PCI compliance will have as they move to cloud-based infrastructures.

Datapipe said that in order to avoid exposing its PCI clients to risks associated with operating in a common cloud infrastructure, it made the PCI Certified Community Cloud exclusive to its PCI clients.

While the PCI-compliant cloud is now publicly available, the company said clients have been running the cloud for a significant amount of time. One customer, mobile service provider Lotaris, has used the PCI Certified Cloud to deliver payment processing technologies to devices globally, Datapipe said.

Datapipe's obtaining of PCI Level 1 certification comes on the heels of another cloud security play from Datapipe, in which the cloud provider launched an Intrusion Detection Service (IDS) on Amazon Web Services, a partnership with Security-as-a-Service player Alert Logic.

The Alert Logic managed networks security play for AWS is available through Datapipe's Managed Cloud offering and offers fully managed IDS and integrates with Alert Logic's Security Operations Center services.
