Ex-Windows Phone Guru Kindel Says He's Joining Amazon

Kindel recently updated his LinkedIn profile to include his job of "Director, Something secret" and adds "I'm building a new team going after a totally new area for Amazon. I'm hiring cloud and mobile developers and testers, program managers, and product managers."

Kindel left Microsoft in August 2011 after 21 years to start his own company, saying at the time he was simply "working on what's next."

Kindel then started BizLogr, where he is founder and chairman and which produced MileLogr, an Internet-based solution for business mileage tracking and logging. On his blog, Kindel notes that he is leaving BizLogr, and the current CTO will take over as CEO.

The April Fool's Day post notes that he will work with "the software and retail giant to build the Amazon Kindle Charlie" and that "the Amazon Kindle Charlie home server will be available in the market about the same time people start spelling Kindel correctly."

But despite the timing of the post, Kindel also starts the post by saying "Part of the following is true" and notes that he will still be involved in the Seattle area as an angel investor despite working for Amazon, and he lists an Amazon email address.

"Amazon's vision is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. I've long been a huge fan, and I'm jazzed about the idea of working in an environment where the first principle is to start with the customer and work backward," Kindel said in the blog post. "I get to build a new team in going after a totally new area for Amazon. I'm particularly excited about all [the] hiring I need to do for cloud and mobile developers and testers, program managers, and product managers."
