MegaPath Acquires Managed VPN Provider

The cost of acquiring privately owned TManage was not disclosed by MegaPath, which provides connectivity services including business DSL, T1/T3, dial-up and Web hosting through relationships with more than a dozen carriers and through its own private network.

TManage, Austin, Texas, adds business-class broadband access, VPN, security and global remote-access services to MegaPath's portfolio of managed services. TManage also designs and deploys its remote access and site-to-site managed VPN and security solutions. Customers have the ability to monitor performance and view reports via a Web portal.

With TManage, Pleasanton, Calif.-based MegaPath gains more than 20,000 VPN end points across several Fortune 1000 accounts, as well as several channel partners.

Also, TManage has a partnership with software-enabled enterprise connectivity services provider iPass, which gives the company and its acquirer access to thousands of analog dial-up, ISDN, and public wired and wireless points of presence in more than 150 countries, including 3,500-plus Wi-Fi and Ethernet hot spots in airports, hotels, conference centers and coffee shops, said executives at MegaPath.
