Riverbed Adds Americas, EMEA Channel Chiefs

Joining Riverbed as vice president, channel sales, Americas, is Rob Rosiello, who will lead overall channel initiatives in Riverbed's Americas partner segments. Rosiello's channel tenure includes prior positions at Cabletron Systems, Riverstone, Alcatel and, most recently, Motorola Solutions, where he was a channel manager for enterprise and government sales in Motorola's Eastern U.S. region.

Coming on board as vice president, channel sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa is Nino D'Auria, who like Rosiello has several decades' worth of channel bona fides. D'Auria was most recently CEO of Lutech SpA, an Italy-based systems integrator, and previously worked in VP- and regional manager-level positions with EMC, Compaq and Digital Equipment.

Riverbed built a healthy channel following behind its outright domination of the WAN-optimization space, and partners now touch about 95 percent of its revenue. The company has sought to position itself beyond the WAN-op segment as a data center and infrastructure performance company, having expanded into application delivery networking, cloud storage, Web content optimization and other adjacent segments in recent years.

Its most recent addition is Granite, a new product family that consolidates edge applications, servers and storage to the data center while making data available to remote workers with the performance as if it were local.
