Panasonic and the City of Denver have formed a formal partnership to make Denver the ’smartest’ city in America. Joseph M. Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Panasonic Corp. of America, laid out the plans for the partnership in four key areas.
Those areas include smart housing and small offices, energy and utilities, transportation and city services, and smart buildings.
’Panasonic hopes to deploy these and other smart solutions over the greater Denver area,’ said Taylor, who pointed to connected streetlights as one IoT solution that will be instated in Denver in the near future.
’Denver and Panasonic share a common goal: To empower people through real-time delivery of information and services. I saw firsthand the power of Panasonic CityNow efforts in Fujisawa, Japan,’ said Denver Mayor Michael Hancock.
’By building city infrastructure that is predictable and accessible, for peoples’ everyday lives, we can give each and every person the freedom and choice to live better and easier lives,’ he added.
