Apple To Fix iPhone Security Flaw
The Mac Rumors forum and the Gizmodo blog both demonstrated that iPhones running the latest iPhone 2.02 software could be hacked with only three taps, Reuters reported.
An Apple spokewoman stated via e-mail that Apple was aware of the iPhone security flaw and that Apple was preparing a software update to fix the flaw, but the Apple spokeswoman didn't say specifically when the iPhone update would be available, Reuters said.
Until the software update is available, iPhone users can use a workaround -- instead of accessing the iPhone's iPod music collection through the "Favorites" menu, iPhone users should use the iPhone "Home" button to access their music, Reuters reported.
Apple released a software fix for the iPhone just last week to help fix problems the iPhone had with connecting to 3G networks. iPhone 3G users have complained that their phones will often slip off of the faster 3G network and connect to slower, older networks such as Edge. The sluggish iPhone connection may have been a due to Infineon chips, as a Nomura analyst suggested.
