Outsourced tech support or other ticketing-based support has become affordable for SMB solution providers to offer to their customers, said Lisa Thostenson, vice president of channel development for Quatrro BPO Solutions, a Tarpon Springs, Fla.-based BPO services specialist.

BPO services have become highly specialized services that can be rebranded in a VAR's name with no cost center involved for the solution provider, she said.

"It's all about the branding capabilities. For example, you can put a button on your Web site and get 24x7 immediate technical support. It would be transparent to the end user that you're going off their Web site and onto another," Thostenson said.

Quatrro BPO Solutions offers Qresolve for consumer help-desk solutions, SPTdesk for commercial customers and SPTdesk Online Backup for VARs to offer hosted storage solutions to customers. The company also offers more custom call center solutions and services geared toward finance and accounting customers, as well as legal, risk and mortgage industries.

"We do processing of foreclosures, applications for financing, a lot of the back-office kind of work [for end users]. We can also do contract management and review, documents review. All the types of things you can imagine in legal paperwork administration," Thostenson said. "It's a very modular approach to the channel. Resellers can pick and choose where they want the help."

A typical Quatrro VAR is a small to midsize company that wants to engage closely with customers and offer many different solutions, Thostenson said. But Quatrro's wide offerings make the company attractive to many different kinds of solution providers, she said.

"We have a big online reseller that is doing some aggressive things with our online backup solution right now. But they'd never come to us and say we want your legal process solution. For each solution, the partner is a little bit different," she said.

Quatrro's services are available through distributor Tech Data, where the company has a partner portal where VARs can download, brand and then distribute collateral, Thostenson said.
