T-Mobile Has Sold 120,000 iPhones in Europe

Hamid Akhavan, CEO of Deutsche Telecom, which owns T-Mobile, told weekly German magazine Focus that delivery problems that have been keeping iPhones out of the hands of its customers would be resolved by the end of the month, Reuters reports.

Apple's decision to launch the product in 22 countries simultaneously has left carriers with distribution issues, he said.

Sales of the 3G iPhone surpassed the company's expectations, Akhavan said, and the number in Germany alone has topped 75,000. T-Mobile has received complaints from its customers in the Netherlands, but not from German or Austrian customers, he said.

Since its launch, the product has been plagued with connectivity problems which Apple has attempted to resolve through software updates. The 3G iPhone's chip set was also called into question by an analyst who thought its software was the root of the problem.
