Macworld Conference Moved To February
The Macworld Expo 2010 is slated to run from Feb. 9-13, 2010, at San Francisco's Moscone Center.
IDG World Expo, which owns the Macworld conference, says feedback from the Mac community prompted the decision to move the event, which has traditionally required exhibitors and attendees to work frantically through the holiday season to ready their wares.
At Macworld 2010, the expo floor will be open from Thursday, Feb.11 through Saturday, Feb. 13, marking the first time the show will run into a weekend, according to IDG.
"We firmly believe that these new dates will better meet the needs of everyone participating in Macworld, and are pleased to have been able this respond to this request from the community," said Mary Dolaher, chief executive officer of IDG World Expo.
Apple dropped a bombshell last December by revealing its intention to pull out of Macworld after the 2009 event and announcing that CEO Steve Jobs wouldn't be giving his traditional keynote speech.
