The AMD ATI Radeon HD 4890 is built on the 4800 series architecture, and features GDDR5 memory. GDDR5 memory provides twice the data per pin of GDDR3 memory, while still operating at the same clock speed. The ATI Radeon 4890 also supports PCI Express 2.0, which supports games with high-bandwidth demands. The unified video decoder 2 is also designed to create the best graphical experience possible on a machine by freeing up a computer's CPU.

The AMD ATI Radeon HD 4890 is expected to sell for around $260.

Meanwhile, Nvidia is set to release the GeForce GTX 275 GPU. Built on the GT200 architecture, the GTX 275 boasts a 240 processor core operating at 104MHz with 80 texture processing units, a 448-bit memory interface and 896-MB framebuffer.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 275 GPU will retail in the $229 to $249 price range and will be available globally on or before April 14.
