Broadcom’s Fine Has The Lead Over Nutanix’s Goffi: Round 2 Updates

The most hotly anticipated matchup of Round 2 pits rivals Broadcom and Nutanix against each other in CRN’s 2025 Channel Madness tournament for a spot in the quarterfinals.

The Solutions 16 are battling it out in Round 2 of the 2025 Channel Madness Tournament of Chiefs, where a number of close matchups are shaping up in the quest for a spot in the quarterfinals.

One of the most highly anticipated matchups of the round is taking place in the Innovation region, where Broadcom’s Tara Fine is out to an early lead with 55 percent of the vote against Nutanix’s Christian Goffi, who’s at 45 percent. These channel chiefs represent companies who are bitter rivals off the court, as Nutanix is working hard to woo partners and customers away from Broadcom’s VMware business.

In the Evolution region, last year’s Channel Madness Champion Tom Evans, competing this year for Cloudflare, is ahead with 57 percent of the vote, holding off Schneider Electric’s Gordon Lord, who’s at 43 percent.

In the Transformation region, Kevin Rooney of Veeam Software is drawing on past experience as a former Channel Madness Champion to come out strong with 54 percent of the vote in his contest against tournament rookie Brian Lanigan of SentinelOne, who’s at 46 percent.
