30 Notable IT Executive Moves: July 2024
Arctiq, Aviatrix, Optiv, AWS, Salesforce and OpenText were among the tech companies making key executive hires and moves in July 2024.
A new chief revenue officer at Arctiq. A new chief technology officer at Aviatrix. And a new senior vice president of partners, alliances and ecosystems at Optiv.
Chris McMillen, formerly of Ahead; Anirban Sengupta, formerly of Google; and Scott Goree, formerly with Skyhigh Security, were some of the biggest executive moves in July.

July Tech Executive Moves
Amazon Web Services, Salesforce and OpenText were among the other tech giants to make executive moves during the month as companies invest in resources for sales, technology and partners.
Those executives were:
- Stacey Long-Genovese, formerly with Snapchat parent Snap
- Rebeca Alvarez, formerly with DocuSign
- Deepti Sharma, formerly with e2open
These executive hires came despite an uptick in unemployment in July, rising to 4.3 percent from 4.1 percent the prior month, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This marked the fourth straight month of unemployment increases since April’s 3.9 percent unemployment rate.

Chris McMillen
Arctiq brought on Chris McMillen in July as its new chief revenue officer.
McMillen joined the Irvine, Calif.-based company – No. 123 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after about four years with Ahead, according to his LinkedIn account. In November, DynTek and rSolutions bought Arctiq and kept the latter’s name for the new consolidated solution provider revealed in March.
He left Ahead with the title of executive vice president. He joined Ahead in 2020 when the firm merged with Data Blue, where McMillen had worked for more than six years. He served as Data Blue’s president at the time of the merger.
Anirban Sengupta
Aviatrix hired Anirban Sengupta in July as chief technology officer and senior vice president of engineering.
Sengupta joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based cloud networking vendor after about four years with Google, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Google with the title of senior director of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Services and Anthos.
His resume includes more than eight years with VMware, leaving the vendor in 2020 with the title of VP of engineering for the Networking & Security Business Unit (NSBU).
Scott Goree
Scott Goree became senior vice president of partners, alliances and ecosystems at Optiv in July.
Goree joined the Denver-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after about two years with Skyhigh Security, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Skyhigh with the title of vice president of global channel and head of Americas sales.
His resume includes about two years with Nutanix. He left the vendor in 2022 with the title of senior director and head of worldwide distribution sales and channel renewal sales.
Stacey Long-Genovese
Stacey Long-Genovese returned to Amazon Web Services in July, taking on the role of global head of learning products.
Long-Genovese came to the Seattle-based cloud giant after about two years with Snapchat parent Snap, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Snap with the title of global head of education, learning and training.
She previously worked at AWS and its parent company, Amazon, for about three years. She left AWS in 2022 with the title of head of emerging learning design.
AWS has more than 130,000 partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.
Rebeca Alvarez
Rebeca Alvarez returned to Salesforce in July, taking on the role of vice president of strategy and operations.
Alvarez came to the San Francisco-based customer relationship management (CRM) tools vendor after about two years with DocuSign, according to her LinkedIn account. She left DocuSign with the title of senior director of strategy and operations.
She previously worked at Salesforce for more than four years, leaving in 2022 with the title of senior director of strategy and operations.
Salesforce has about 12,000 partners, according to CRN.
Deepti Sharma
OpenText hired Deepti Sharma in July as vice president of software engineering.
Sharma joined the Waterloo, Ontario-based security vendor after about nine years with e2open, according to her LinkedIn account. She left e2open with the title of vice president of product development for the platform.
Her resume includes about two years with Hewlett-Packard. She left the company in 2015 as a software engineering manager. Hewlett-Packard split into HP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in 2015.
OpenText has more than 30,000 partners, according to the vendor.
Baelson Duque
Oracle hired Baelson Duque in July as vice president of industries transformation.
Duque came to the Austin, Texas-based database products and services vendor after more than nine years with Apple, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Apple with the title of product management leader for autonomous systems, embedded and controls software.
His resume includes about 13 years with Microsoft, leaving the vendor in 2014 with the title of senior product and program manager for premium mobile ad experiences.
Oracle NetSuite is part of CRN’s 2024 Partner Program Guide.
Ziya Ma
Ziya Ma joined Microsoft in July, taking on the role of vice president of software and firmware center of excellence for Azure.
Ma came to the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant after more than 14 years with Intel, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Intel with the title of corporate vice president and general manager of foundational software technologies.
At Intel, she led “a global organization, responsible for planning, delivering and supporting firmware and simulation solutions for Intel data center, client, graphics and networking products. Routine responsibilities include product management, architecture/pathfinding/design/development/test for the firmware stack and the simulation solutions, stakeholder management, product planning, OEM & cloud customer (CSP) support, ISV and open source engagement,” according to her LinkedIn.
Microsoft has more than 400,000 partners worldwide. The vendor is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.
Margaret Cyphers
In July, Margaret Cyphers became vice president of design for employee workflows at ServiceNow.
Cyphers joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based automation tools vendor after more than eight years with Google, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Google with the title of director of user experience for Google Play.
Her resume includes more than four years with Active Network, leaving in 2016 as senior global creative director of user experience.
ServiceNow has 2,200 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.
Rajesh Raheja
Rajesh Raheja joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise in July, taking on the role of senior vice president and general manager of private cloud, according to a LinkedIn post.
Raheja came to the Houston-based tech giant after about four years with Boomi, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Boomi with the title of chief engineering officer and senior vice president of engineering.
He also worked at Broadcom for about four years, leaving in 2019 with the title of SVP of engineering, a role where he “headed global R&D and technology strategy for six market-leading products with over 700 customers, managing over 200 team members and a $35M budget,” according to his LinkedIn.
HPE is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.
JP Kehoe
JP Kehoe joined Hatz AI in July, taking on the role of head of global sales.
Kehoe came to the New York-based AI-as-a-service practice builder for MSPs after about 11 years with Barracuda MSP, according to his LinkedIn account.
He was the vice president of international sales and marketing at Skout before it was acquired by Barracuda Networks in 2021, spending a total of 11 years with the company heading up sales for extended detection and response (XDR).
Hatz has more than 60 MSP partners.
Michael Stevens
Cisco hired Michael Stevens in July as its vice president of data centers and labs.
Stevens came to the San Jose, Calif.-based networking giant after about eight years with Proofpoint, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Proofpoint with the title of VP of global operations.
His resume includes about 18 years with Yahoo and GeoCities, which Yahoo bought in 1999. He left Yahoo in 2016 with the title of senior director of production engineering for mobile search.
Cisco is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.
Stéphane Taine
Google brought on Stéphane Taine in July as a vice president of product, with a role “supporting the Google Identity & Engagement product team,” according to his LinkedIn account.
Taine came to the Mountain View, Calif.-based tech giant after about a year with dating application Hinge, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company with the title of chief product officer.
His resume includes about nine years with Facebook and its parent company Meta. He left Meta in 2023 with the title of head of product. In this role, he “led Product Management for Messenger and Instagram DM (100+ PMs), one of the fastest growing messaging services in the world,” according to his LinkedIn.
Taine also worked at Microsoft for about eight years, leaving in 2014 with the title of principal program manager lead. During his time at Microsoft, he served as the “PM Lead for the Skype for Business server migration from on-premise to Office 365.”
Madhan Arumugam Ramakrishnan
In July, Madhan Arumugam Ramakrishnan became a vice president of product at Snowflake.
Ramakrishnan came to the Bozeman, Mt.-based AI data cloud vendor after about 16 years with Microsoft, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Microsoft with the title of corporate vice president for Microsoft Cloud for independent software vendors (ISVs) and AI.
His resume includes about six years with Intel, leaving the vendor in 2008 with the title of senior software engineer.
Snowflake is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.
Melanie Hermann
In July, Melanie Hermann joined Judge Consulting Group as vice president of program delivery.
Hermann came to the Wayne, Pa.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after about three years with CDI, according to her LinkedIn account. She left CDI with the title of program delivery manager. Ahead acquired CDI in February.
She joined CDI in 2021 with the acquisition of High Availability. She had been with High Availability for about five years, serving as senior project and process manager at the time of the acquisition.
Enoch Han
Enoch Han joined Pure Storage in July, taking on the role of vice president of commercial strategy and transformation.
Han came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based data storage vendor after about three years with Palo Alto Networks, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Palo Alto Networks with the title of senior director of go-to-market (GTM) strategy and transformation.
His resume includes about 12 years with Monitor Deloitte, leaving in 2021 with the title of associate partner of GTM and customer strategy, according to his LinkedIn account.
Pure Storage is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.
Gary Meshell
In July, Palo Alto Networks hired Gary Meshell as vice president of alliances.
Meshell came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based security vendor after more than two years with Amazon Web Services, according to his LinkedIn account. He left AWS with the title of world wide leader for global partner security initiatives.
His resume includes about a year with Iron Mountain, leaving in 2021 with the title of senior managing director.
Palo Alto Networks has about 15,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.
MJ Sait
MJ Sait joined CrowdStrke as vice president of customer value in July.
Sait came to the Austin, Texas-based security vendor after about four years with Snowflake, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Snowflake with the title of global head of value engineering and bid management.
His resume includes about two years with ServiceNow. He left the vendor in 2020 with the title of senior manager of value management.
Clay Caldwell
Kyndryl hired Clay Caldwell in July, tasking him with the role of senior vice president for SAP growth.
In this role, he will lead “go to market, offering management, strategy and execution for Kyndryl’s Application, Data and Artificial Intelligence business with a prioritized focus on the partnership with SAP,” according to his LinkedIn account.
Caldwell came to the New York-based company – No. 9 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after more than 18 years with SAP, according to his LinkedIn account. He left SAP with the title of chief revenue officer of Rise.
Blake Nelson
Leidos brought on Blake Nelson in July as vice president of its cloud practice.
Nelson joined the Reston, Va.-based company – No. 10 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after about a year with Valhalla Partners, according to his LinkedIn account. He served as managing partner.
His resume includes about two years with Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC). He left the company in 2023 with the title of vice president of platforms and cloud solutions.
Charlie Nugent
In July, World Wide Technology hired Charlie Nugent as a vice president.
Nugent joined the Maryland Heights, Mo.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after about five years with Slalom, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Slalom with the title of managing director.
His resume includes about four years with Point 61 Consulting, which he founded in 2015. He left with the title of managing partner.
Ishwaran Sundar
Ishwaran Sundar came to Capgemini in July, taking on the role of vice president of global center of excellence.
Sundar joined the France-based company – No. 4 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after more than five years with HCLTech, according to his LinkedIn account. He left HCL with the title of North America head of SAP retail and consumer goods telecommunications, media and entertainment (TME).
His resume includes about a year with PwC. He left the firm in 2019 with the title of transformation executive and director for SAP S/4 Hana.
Murali Srikantiah Kaushik
In July, Murali Srikantiah Kaushik returned to Virtusa with a new role as vice president of delivery for generative AI (GenAI) and emerging technologies.
Kaushik joined the Southborough, Mass.-based company – No. 20 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after more than two years with BCG Platinion. He left BCG with the title of principal IT architect, according to his LinkedIn account.
He left Virtusa in 2022 after about 20 years with the company. He left with the title of technology VP.
Chris Jackson
In July, Applied Digital brought on a new senior vice president of operations – Chris Jackson.
Jackson came to the Dallas-based solution provider after more than two years with Stream Data Centers, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Stream with the title of SVP of operations.
His resume includes more than three years with Vantage Data Centers. He left the company in 2022 with the title of VP of operations.
Lee Carter
In July, Lee Carter returned to HTC Global Services, taking on the role of senior vice president and business unit head.
Carter joined the Troy, Mich.-based company – No. 32 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after about two years with SEI, accordingto his LinkedIn account. He left the firm with the title of managing director.
He came to HTC with the acquisition of Cipher in 2017. He left Cipher in 2021 with the title of director.
Peter Santighian
Peter Santighian returned to ECS in July to serve as senior vice president for Department of Defense customers.
Santighian joined the Fairfax, Va.-based company – No. 44 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after about seven years with Halvik, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Halvik with the title chief strategy officer.
He previously left ECS in 2015, leaving with the title of vice president. He “served as Federal Civilian Account Executive reporting directly to the CEO of the company” and was “responsible for maintaining and growing a $100+M/year account,” according to his LinkedIn.
Maleena Thurston
Cyderes brought back Maleena Thurston in July, with Thurston taking on the role of vice president of finance and controller.
She returned to the Kansas City, Mo.-based company – No. 93 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after less than a year with Plusgrade. She left Plusgrade with the title of finance operations director, accordingto her LinkedIn account.
Thurston previously left Cyderes in March with the title of director of finance and controller. She had worked at Cyderes for about five years.
Chris Wilson
Chris Wilson returned to TTEC Digital in July as vice president of digital sales for its Microsoft practice.
Wilson came to the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based company – No. 89 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 – after about three years with Planet. He left Planet with the title of enterprise account manager, according to his LinkedIn account.
His previous tenure with TTEC came with the 2021 acquisition of Avtex Solutions, where he had worked since 2019. Wilson left in 2021 with the title of account executive.
Josh Ghiloni
UDT hired a new vice prescient of engineering in July – Josh Ghiloni.
Ghiloni joined the Miramar, Fla.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after about two years with Realtor.com, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Realtor with the title of principal software engineer.
His resume includes more than four years with VMware. He left the vendor in 2022 with the title of staff solutions architect for modern applications platform.
Michael Burke
In July, Michael Burke joined Thrive, taking on the role of senior vice president of technical services.
Burke came to the Foxborough, Mass.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after more than seven years with Presidio, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Presidio with the title of solution architects director.
His resume includes about seven years with Virtual Dynamix (VDX). He left the company in 2016 with the title of chief technology officer.
