Oracle Buys Supply Chain Software Company

Based in King of Prussia, Penn., the six year old G-Log has more than 175 employees and 44 customers, including Halliburton, DuPont and Volvo. G-Log is expected to give Oracle a greater presence in the supply chain management market, providing it important logistics capabilities that should help the Redwood Shore, Calif., software vendor compete more effectively against SAP.

According to an Oracle statement, the company will use G-Log&s software to deliver a Logistics Hub solution, delivering what it calls a “comprehensive offering for supply chain and logistics management.”
