CA CTO To Exit Company
Barrenechea announced Wednesday that he will leave CA in June and join technology investment firm Garnett and Helfrich Capital as a director. Menlo Park, Calif.-based Garnett and Helfrich said Barrenechea will start June 19.
Barrenechea's exit comes on the heels of another high-level CA executive departure. In April, CA COO Jeff Clarke left the Islandia, N.Y.-based company to become president and CEO of the Travel Distribution Services division of Cendant, New York.
Barrenechea reportedly said his departure is unrelated to CA’s financial performance. Just weeks ago, CA said it would miss its earnings guidance for its fiscal 2006 fourth quarter.
CA projected earnings per share of zero to 2 cents, on revenue of $940 million to $950 million, for the quarter ended March 31. The company estimated earnings of between 9 cents and 10 cents per share for the period in its earlier forecast.
