IT ChannelVision Europe: Comarch Recruits ERP VARs
Comarch President and CEO Janusz Filipiak along with Annette Fadrowski, the head of the ERP vendor's US office, are slated to address solution providers on Wednesday at the Rome event, which is owned by ChannelWeb parent Everything Channel , a division of United Business Media.
Comarch, a $200 million European powerhouse with 3,000 employees, trails closely behind Oracle and SAP in ERP market share in Poland. About 900 solution providers in Poland currently sell Comarch ERP products.
Comarch has been selling ERP products for 14 years and has more than 50,000 customers. But with Comarch Altum, which was just released last month, it is aiming to dramatically expand its market share.
One big differentiator for Comarch is Altum's process oriented technology which makes it easier for solution providers to build custom vertical solutions for clients, said Lukasz Wrobel, a department director for ERP international consulting for Comarch.
Wrobel said Comarch Altum provides solution providers with the underlying technology to more quickly build ERP solutions based on the client's business processes. "It's a really flexible and open architecture with APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that give partners the ability to fine tune the business logic of applications to meet customer needs," he said.
Comarch is building a full fledged community around Altum so partners will be able to sell their own vertical applications at the Comarch Altum web portal by the end of the year, said Fadrowski. "We have an open business model and are building a community for customers and partners," said Fadrowski.
