NetSuite Debuts OneWorld 2010 Cloud Application Release
The OneWorld applications are generally targeted toward larger companies with subsidiaries and distributed operations. While many NetSuite channel partners work with the vendor's mainstream NetSuite Financials and NetSuite CRM applications, which are more targeted toward SMBs, the new OneWorld release could create an opportunity for solution providers to work with larger customers, said Mini Peiris, product marketing vice president.
NetSuite OneWorld 2010, which is being rolled out in stages between now and the end of October, offers new global inventory management capabilities for businesses with complex subsidiary structures, either domestic or international, Peiris said. The application, for example, introduces a new inventory fulfillment process for moving items between subsidiaries and tracking the price of products moved between subsidiaries.
The new release complies with multinational accounting standards in Europe, according to NetSuite, and offers expanded global currency options and simplified tax reporting for a wider range of countries.
The new application set also is integrated with Google Apps, that company's cloud productivity application set, and sports an improved user interface that emphasizes ease-of-use and simpler navigation, according to the company.
