Kaseya Eyes Cloud, MDM With New Acquisitions
First, Kaseya acquired Zyrion, a software vendor specializing in cloud and IT service monitoring. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Newly appointed Kaseya CEO Yogesh Gupta said the move will allow the company to combine its systems management software with Zyrion's Traverse monitoring software to cover both public and private clouds.
"Our managed services partners started telling us that their customers were moving to the cloud but they didn't have the right tools to manage those cloud platforms," Gupta said. "We believe this will help us in many ways in addressing the customers' need of tomorrow with cloud and managing both public and private infrastructures."

Gupta said the entire Zyrion team has joined Kirkland, Wash.-based Kaseya, and that the company will begin to roll out the combined product set to managed services partners in the very near future. He also said Zyrion partners will be joining the Kaseya partner program, which currently has around 250 channel partners worldwide.
Kaseya also recently acquired Rover Apps, a software maker that specializes in mobile device management for BYOD users. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Kaseya said it will combine Rover's Secure Container Suite for mobile devices with its systems management software offerings, giving MSP partners a full range of tools to cover client systems from the data center to the smartphone. Rover software is available in two versions: the Secure Web Browser for corporate intranets and Web apps, and the Secure Mobile Suite for email and document management.
Brian Dagan, senior systems support engineer at Connected WorkPlace Solutions (CWPS), a Kaseya partner based in Washington, D.C., said both Zyrion and Rover Apps are great fits for Kaseya and for CWPS' managed services practice.
"I don't think they could have picked two better acquisition targets," Dagan said. "Zyrion is amazing, and I think Rover's management software is perfect for solution providers than need to remotely manage devices."
