Worksoft Capture 2.0 Targets Faster Implementation, Testing Of SAP Applications
Worksoft, the developer of automated business process discovery and testing software, is shipping a new release of its Capture technology that simplifies and accelerates the implementation of SAP S/4HANA applications and other SAP software.
The debut of Capture 2.0 comes as SAP customers are stepping up their migrations to S/4HANA, SAP Fiori and cloud SAP applications like SuccessFactors. SAP's recently launched C/4HANA, the vendor's new CRM application suite, can be added to that list.
Worksoft's software is used to automate the testing of enterprise packaged applications such as those from SAP, Oracle, Salesforce and others, ensuring that implemented applications are performing business processes as expected and generating the necessary documentation.

Worksoft says its tools can speed up application implementation projects and reduce their costs by 20 to 30 percent. The software is also playing a key role in business' digital transformation efforts.
Systems integrator Accenture, under an alliance with Worksoft, uses the vendor's software as part of its application services business. The company has similar relationships with IBM and Cognizant focused on SAP applications.
The quality and speed enhancements in the new release of the Capture software make it five-times faster than earlier generations of the product, according to Worksoft. The release sports a new user interface and offers performance improvements for Web testing.
"Capture 2.0 allows businesses to speed up implementation projects by allowing people to participate earlier in the project," said Shoeb Javed, Worksoft CTO, in an interview.
The new software creates automated business flows and supporting documents for frequently enhanced HTML5 user interfaces such as SAP Fiori, according to the company. It provides enhanced design features for optimizing test-creation workflows and enabling accelerated test documentation and test-case authoring. And there are more out-of-the-box application definitions for capturing and documenting business processes more quickly.
A newly streamlined process for authoring and building test banks makes it easier for quality assurance engineers to record and play back interactions with browers, SAP applications and mobile applications, Worksoft said.
Javed noted that with the growing adoption of Agile development and similar development methodologies, the pressure is on to capture business processes and workflows earlier in development and implementation projects. "Capture 2.0 enables Agile implementations and really makes it possible to implement software systems in an Agile fashion," he said.
SAP's push to get new and existing customers to adopt the S/4HANA line of applications is also fueling demand for Worksoft's tools. "Anytime anybody wants to implement S/4HANA, we speed up that project," Javed said.
And while SAP has been working to more tightly integrate its cloud applications such as SuccessFactors and Hybris, Javed said there is still a need for tools to make sure business processes work across those systems.
"So we're not going to run out of things to do," the CTO said.
