SuperOps.ai Taps Juan Fernandez As Channel Chief

‘I always look for products and services that people need. I know that there’s a tide that’s changing, I felt it. I could see what these guys are building and I said to myself, ‘This is so perfect for the industry right now,’” says Juan Fernandez on joining SuperOps.ai.

Unified PSA-RMM platform provider SuperOps.ai has tapped channel veteran Juan Fernandez as its new channel chief to lead all U.S. operations.

In his role, Fernandez (pictured) will be advancing Claymont, Del.-based SuperOps.ai’s channel strategy, enhancing partner relationships and expanding the company’s global presence - all of which will enhance and strengthen SuperOps.ai’s platform and drive deeper engagement with the company’s partners.

“I was immediately inspired by what they were creating,” Fernandez told CRN in an exclusive interview. “I always look for products and services that people need. I know that there’s a tide that’s changing, I felt it. I could see what these guys are building and I said to myself, ‘This is so perfect for the industry right now.’”

Fernandez, who assumed his new role on Oct. 1, said he believed SuperOps.ai was a disruptor in the space and always kept an eye on them.

“I’m always looking to see what’s next and where we should we be going,” he said. “What are the new things that are needed in the space? Where are some of the challenges and where is most of the friction for a lot of the MSPs? I love the fact that they were driving towards profitability, return on investment and outcome-based customer journeys.”

He added that after diving deeper into the product, he believes SuperOps.ai is “revolutionary” for MSPs.

Prior to joining SuperOps.ai, Fernandez most recently was the channel chief for Brooklyn, NY-based HacWare. He also co-authored the MSP Owners Handbook, built and scaled a leading MSP, and is the chief encouragement officer for the MSP Growth Coalition, an organization that helps MSPs succeed.

SuperOps.ai’s co-founder and CEO Arvind Parthiban said the company wasn’t just looking for a leader, or a sales leader for that matter.

“We wanted someone who understands the pain points and problems in the MSP market,” he told CRN. “We wanted someone to guide us in the right direction [with] that kind of expertise. We wanted someone like one of our founders, and one of the things that we really love with Juan is he has that founding, hustling mentality. He’s run a startup and sold a startup, so therefore when Juan asked me what the job role is like I said, ‘You’ve got to do everything.’

“He’s going to be our first US executor who’s going to be running the show,” he added.

Fernandez’s first plans of action are to build out his team of about six employees, sit down with MSPs to understand their issues, find the right tools and work alongside MSPs to scale their business. He also will be running education-based events for MSPs on how to operate their businesses.

“It’s similar to what I’ve been doing my whole life,” he said.

About 70 percent of SuperOps.ai’s customer base is in North America, said Parthiban.

“We want to make sure that the next phase of our journey is we need to expand properly in all regions, in all aspects,” Parthiban said. “It’s not just sales, not just pre-sales, not just marketing. We want to be the leaders and visionaries in the space of how the whole world is evolving through AI.”

Going forward, the company is doubling down on the IT market, expanding its platform and really driving home the power of AI.

“That’s the icing on top of all this,” Parthiban said. “Any company in the world, if they are not going to invest in AI they’re going to be left behind. It’s not going to be a feature. Every single thing we are doing is going to be reinvented and will be done completely differently with AI.”
