HP To Acquire RLX To Bolster Blades
Terms of the deal weren&t disclosed, but the transaction is expected to be closed within 30 days, according to HP, Palo Alto, Calif.
RLX is a Spring, Texas-based provider of blade server management software. Its flagship product is RLX Control Tower, a Linux-based management suite. HP said the RLX acquisition would help it deliver a unified infrastructure management solution across Linux, Unix and Windows operating environments.
After the deal is finalized, RLX will be integrated into HP&s Technology Solutions Group, HP said.
“With Linux&s expansion into blade server environments, customers want tools that deliver simpler and more robust management,” said Rick Becker, vice president and general manager of HP BladeSystems, in a statement.
