Intel Ships Developer Tools For the Mac
The tools are available for a free trial during beta testing through the Intel Software Network. They are scheduled for release for purchase in the second quarter.
The beta versions include a Fortran compiler, a C++ compiler, a math kernel library and integrated performance primitives. Other resources are available through the Santa Clara, Calif., chipmaker to help with software optimization, dual core threading and migration.
"Our highly optimized compilers and libraries yield significant performance advantages for applications and take advantage of the opportunities made available through multi-core and multi-threaded environments, William Savage, general manager of Intel's Software Products Division, said in a statement.
These development tools are integrated into Apple's Xcode development environment.
