Digex Replaces CEO
Digex
Kerns replaces Mark Shull. A company spokeswoman said the board of directors made the decision to replace Shull with Kerns. Shull is no longer with the company.
Kerns has been responsible for Digex's operations since early 2001. Before joining Digex, Kerns was COO of HarvardNet.
Digex is majority-owned by WorldCom, which in April of this year replaced longtime CEO Bernard Ebbers with John Sidgemore, former vice chairman.
Digex's stock was trading down 3 cents at 49 cents in midafternoon trading.
