IBS Adds IBM Middleware To Midmarket Supply Chain Software

Stockholm, Sweden-based IBS targets midsize manufacturers and distributors in the pharmaceuticals, electronic equipment, automotive, industrial supplies and consumer durables industries. Under the expanded agreement, the two companies will jointly market and sell IBS's Virtual Enterprise and ASW Suite of supply chain applications with IBM's middleware already added in. For larger customers, that middleware includes WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal Server, DB2 Universal Database and Lotus Domino. For smaller customers, the IBS applications will come with WebSphere Application Server Express and WebSphere Portal Express.

IBS will promote IBM eServer iSeries and xSeries hardware as its servers of choice.

Leslie Givens, program director of ISV and developer relations at IBM, could not predict when these combinations would reach the IBM channel.
