Dell Acquires Allin's Microsoft Services

Dell will take control of Allin's Microsoft-based business units. The acquisition includes four offices, based in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, San Jose and Walnut Creek, Calif.

For its $12 million, Dell gets a boost in its Microsoft expertise, with the acquired business units specializing in consulting services based on Microsoft's core infrastructure as well as business-management software and services.

In all, about 100 Allin employees will be joining the Dell team.

"The expertise we gain from Allin further deepens our ability to help customers exploit Microsoft technologies for business advantage," Stephen Murdoch, vice president, Global Infrastructure Consulting Services, Dell, said in a statement.

In addition to its Microsoft consulting practices, Allin maintains an interactive media and collaborative solutions business, which it will retain.
