Ingram Management Changes Include Return of Bay
Bay is expected to the join the company next week as an executive vice president, assuming responsibility for partner-facing activities, including sales, marketing and product management, in the United States and Canada.
Bay most recently was CEO of Punch! Software, a home design software company, whose assets were purchased Monday by Encore Software, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corp. He previously worked at Ingram Micro from 1995 to 2006, leaving as senior vice president of vendor management to join Punch!.
Brian Wiser, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Scott Zahl, vice president of vendor management, and Ken Bast, vice president of vendor management, and Mark Snider, general manager of Ingram Micro Canada, will report to Bay, according to an Ingram spokesperson.
Meanwhile, Ingram Micro also promoted Kirk Robinson to vice president, value-added reseller (VAR) and GovEd sales, market development and business intelligence, earlier this month.
On the sales side, Robinson replaces Peter DiMarco, who “left to pursue new career opportunities,” according to an internal e-mail obtained by CRN sent from Keith Bradley, Ingram’s president of North America. DiMarco was a 25-year employee at Ingram Micro.
“In his new role, Kirk will be responsible for driving sales strategies and performance with our VAR and government customers in the United States, while maintaining his current leadership in business intelligence," according to the memo. "While he will be officially located in Santa Ana, Kirk plans to spend much of his time in Buffalo, especially over the next three to four months.”
Robinson will continue to report to Wiser, who adds responsibilities for creative services, corporate events and channel communities such as VentureTech Nework until further notice, according to the e-mail. Ingram Micro executives could not be immediately reached for comment.
“These moves will accelerate Ingram’s growth efforts, energize our team and strengthen our competitive edge and partner value in the IT channel,” said the company in a statement. “Paul is a smart, innovative leader who knows how to build a business. As a chief executive, Paul gained hands-on experience in finance, capital markets and general management – knowledge that will be extremely valuable as Ingram develops and executes against additional strategies and opportunities.”
