CSI To Acquire MSP Heit To Boost Cloud Managed Services
financial industry-focused MSP Heit
Fort Collins, Colo.-based Heit operates two secured data centers in Fort Collins and Austin, Texas that are staffed around-the-clock with experts to ensure mission-critical resources function efficiently. Adding Heit to Paducah, Ky.-based CSI's roster makes it one of the largest cloud and managed service providers for financial institutions nationally.
Neither CSI nor Heit released the financial terms of the stock purchase, which is expected to occur on September 1.
Heit also brings more than 400 new customers to CSI's more than 5,200 clients and gives the firm the ability to target customers' compliance, security and infrastructure management needs, while also offering its financial customers the ability to partially or completely outsource their IT.
"Financial institutions today are under more regulatory pressure and security threats than ever before," said Steve Powless, CSI's CEO, in a statement. "We remain dedicated to ensuring that our customers have the highest levels of compliance and security in place. The addition of Heit to the CSI family will provide our existing customers with expanded services, enhancing their competitiveness with more secure and efficient technology and operations."
CSI and Heit said the combination will enable CSI to offer cloud-based managed services that give financial institutions access to on-demand technology and services without the overhead of building cumbersome data centers and buying gear to build networks and servers. Instead, institutions can tap experts offering 24-hour coverage of security and compliance management without additional resources.
"We look forward to joining the CSI family," said Dan Holt, CEO of Heit, in a statement. According to CSI, Holt will become general manager of CSI's Managed Services Division when the acquisition closes. Heit has been recognized as one of CRN's 40 Most Innovative MSPs.
"CSI, like Heit, is dedicated to providing innovative solutions to financial institutions that are backed by a team of industry experts. This is a tremendous opportunity to further invest, innovate and expand our national presence as a managed services provider, while also gaining the ability to offer many new services to our customers," Holt added.
Heit's acquisition by CSI comes on the heels of Heit's purchase of managed service provider ReymannGroup, which played a major role in Heit launching its Managed Compliance Service.
