HP Promotes Crouther To Head Of Public Sector Enterprise Services

In her new role, Crouther will be tasked with building HP's relationships with federal, state and local government agencies, and with identifying the infrastructure, applications and business processes that meet the specific needs of government IT customers, HP said in a statement.

Crouther takes over for Dennis Stolkey, who has been promoted to head of HP Enterprise Services in the Americas region.

Crouther's background extends beyond finance: Over the years she has also been involved in strategic planning and execution efforts, and has worked to ensure that HP public sector customers are complying with government regulations, according to HP.

"Marilyn is a results-driven executive who will accelerate our efforts in delivering best-in-class services to government clients while maintaining strong client relationships," John Visentin, executive vice president and general manager of HP Enterprise Services, said in a statement. "Marilyn’s significant experience in federal contracting, finance and serving our clients makes her ideally placed to achieve these efforts."

Crouther began her career with EDS in 1989. HP acquired EDS in 2008 for $13.9 billion and renamed it HP Enterprise Services in 2009.

HP has seen an inordinate amount of executive turnover this year. Visentin took over in August for Tom Iannotti, vice president of HP Enterprise Services, and Thomas Hogan, executive vice president of enterprise business sales and marketing, also left at that time.

Other notable departures include Michael J. Holston, executive vice president and general counsel; Marius Haas, senior vice president and general manager of HP Networking; Pete Bocian, executive vice president and chief administrative officer; and Randy Mott, executive vice president and CIO.
