Brent McCarty, who has led the distributor's consumer electronics business, formerly DBL Distributing, since 2009 becomes executive managing director of Ingram Micro U.K. and Ireland, a position recently vacated by Matt Sanderson who now returns to Australia to lead company operations there. "They are seasoned and respected industry leaders, and we are confident they will deliver new growth and opportunity for our business. I will work closely with them over the first quarter of 2013 to ensure an appropriate and seamless transition for our customers, vendors and associates."
The Santa Ana, Calif.-based distributor also announced that Bashar Nejdawi, the company's senior vice president of corporate strategic initiatives and partnerships for Ingram Micro Mobility, has been promoted to president of Ingram Micro North America Mobility, reporting to Senior Executive Vice President Shailendra Gupta.
Nejdawi replaces Mark Howell, who is leaving the company later this month to pursue other interests.
"Bashar has worked extensively with the North America region and brings to his new role an ideal mix of experience in mobile distribution and manufacturing, as well as mobility services," said Gupta in a prepared statement. "This is a highly important region for Ingram Micro and we're confident in his ability to build on Mark's good work and drive additional profitable growth throughout the region."
Nejdawi's previous experience includes roles as president of the mobile enhancement business at BrightPoint, where he later became global executive and head of European Sales and Procurement before moving on to the role he now vacates. He spent the previous 17 years with Motorola.
