Lenovo Exec Shake-Up Continues: Lencquesaing Named N. America President

Aymar de Lencquesaing

Barely a week after new president Gianfranco Lanci started work, Lenovo is continuing the shake-up of its upper management ranks, making Aymar de Lencquesaing president of Lenovo North America, effective Tuesday.

Lencquesaing has been with Lenovo since late 2013, leading the company's mobile business in the European, Middle East and Africa markets. He was promoted to president of EMEA and senior vice president of the Lenovo Group in February 2014.

Before Lenovo, Lencquesaing was a corporate vice president at Capgemini, where he spent about two years, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also spent three years at Acer as senior corporate vice president under Lanci. He was president and CEO of Packard Bell from 2003 to 2008.

Under Lencquesaing, Lenovo's EMEA business accounted for nearly a third of the company's global revenue, sold more tablets than any other Lenovo geography and expanded the company's smartphone business to nearly 50 countries, Lenovo said in a statement.

Along with Lencquesaing's new post, Lenovo has made Eric Cador senior vice president and president of EMEA. He starts May 1. Cador is a former leader of HP's EMEA PC business.

The moves are a continuation of a broad reorganization of Lenovo's executive team. In mid-March, the company made former Acer CEO Gianfranco Lanci corporate president, a job he officially started Wednesday.

At the same time, Lenovo announced the promotion of Gerry Smith to executive vice president and chief operating officer, as well as the promotion of former president of North America Jay Parker, who now becomes Lenovo's senior vice president, Enterprise Business Group.

The executive shake-up at Lenovo comes on the heels of the company's creating an Enterprise Business Group earlier this year, and also amid a changing of the Lenovo channel partner leadership from Chris Frey to Sammy Kinlaw, who was recently promoted to North American Channel Chief.
