Unisys Appoints New Chief Marketing Officer, Aims To Boost Its Security Marketing Message
Unisys bolstered its marketing prowess Monday by bringing on former LiveOps chief marketing officer Ann Sung Ruckstuhl as the solution provider’s new CMO.
’When I started looking at Unisys, I was so inspired. … and I want to share that excitement … I want to share the Unisys story,’ she said in an interview with CRN. ’My first to-do on my list is amplify this story and tell it to everybody.’
Ruckstuhl said she is excited about Unisys’ story because of how important the Blue Bell, Pa.-based company’s security message is in a market focusing on digital transformation.

’You can transform yourself into an unsecure future, but you don’t want to do that,’ she said, adding that with Unisys’ help, businesses can leverage the newest technology while keeping their data safe.
Promoting that story, which Ruckstuhl’s marketing department has coined the ’Securing Your Tomorrow,’ awareness campaign, is the new CMO’s first order of business, aimed at generating both awareness and demand for Unisys’ security solutions.
Ruckstuhl said that much of her professional career in marketing and product management leadership – which spans more than two decades – has prepared her for her new position. Working with companies that include SOASTA, LiveOps, Symantec, NortonLive Services, Sybase, eBay and Hewlett-Packard has given her a knowledge of both software and hardware services that will help her adapt to the integration of both sold to Unisys’ clientele.
The appointment, she said, is a ’great marriage,’ which she said ’feels like a situation where one plus one equals three.’
Ruckstuhl will be based in Silicon Valley and will report directly to Peter Altabef, president and CEO of Unisys – No. 19 on CRN’s SP500 list.
’Her domain expertise, energy and command of marketing best practices will elevate Unisys marketing to the next level. She is a great addition to our senior leadership team,’ Altabef said in a statement.
Ruckstuhl is replacing Inder Singh, who was hired as CMO in March and then named senior vice president and chief financial officer to replace Janet Haugen who retired in November.
