Channel Madness Round 2: Dell EMC's Byrne Locked In Close Battle With NetApp's Lipsin
Battles continue to rage in Round 2 of the 2017 CRN Channel Madness Tournament of Chiefs. With less than 24 hours of voting left, here's how the Solutions 16 are faring.
In the Cloud region, Verizon's Janet Schijns was leading VMware's Frank Rauch early, but Rauch over the weekend surged ahead and is now out in front of Schijns 61 percent to 39 percent.
AT&T's Brooks McCorcle has opened up her lead against Intermedia's Eric Martorano and is now ahead 73 percent to 27 percent.
In the Hardware region, NetApp's Bill Lipsin has lost his early lead over Dell EMC's John Byrne. In what is currently the tightest contest of Round 2, Byrne holds a slim lead, 51 percent to 49 percent.
In the other Hardware region contest, Lenovo's Sammy Kinlaw has bolstered his lead over HP's Stephanie Dismore 83 percent to 17 percent.
In Infrastructure, where executives from the same company are facing each other for the first time in Channel Madness history, Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Terry Richardson has built up a comfortable margin over colleague Scott Dunsire. Richardson is leading 85 percent to 15 percent.
F5's David Helfer continues to dominate in has matchup against Cisco's Wendy Bahr, leading 86 percent to 14 percent.
And in the Software region, Microsoft's Gavriella Schuster continues to lead in her contest against Oracle's Bill Swales. Swales picked up five points over the weekend but Schuster still leads 60 percent to 40 percent. Meanwhile, Kendra Krause of Sophos is ahead of Salesforce's Neeracha Taychakhoonavudh 60 percent to 40 percent.
