Channel Madness Round 3: Tight Battle In The Cloud, Dell EMC's Byrne Pulling Away
With a trip to the Field of Four on the line, Round 3 of the 2017 CRN Channel Madness Tournament of Chiefs is starting to heat up. With less than 24 hours of voting left, here's how the Enterprise 8 are faring.
In the Infrastructure Region, HPE's Terry Richardson jumped to a big lead in early voting over F5's David Helfer. Helfer is climbing back, though, narrowing Richardson's current 60 percent lead.
Over in the Hardware portion of the bracket, Dell EMC's John Byrne has a commanding lead over Lenovo's Sammy Kinlaw (84 percent to 16 percent). Kinlaw is going to need a huge push down the stretch if he wants to make an appearance in the Field of Four.
In a battle of the last round's two highest vote-getters, Intermedia's Eric Martorano holds a slim lead over Verizon's Janet Schijns. Martorano is currently up 53 percent to 47 percent in this Cloud Region contest.
And lastly, in the Software Region, Microsoft's Gavriella Schuster is holding onto 54 percent of the vote. Don't count Sophos' Kendra Krause out just yet.
Voting in Round 3 is open until Thursday, March 30 at noon ET. Visit CRN.com/madness to cast your votes and choose your chief!
