Pax8 Boosts Line Card With Addition Of Axcient/eFolder's File Sharing, Office 365 Cloud-To-Cloud Backup
Cloud distributor Pax8 is bringing in Office 365 data protection as well as business continuity solutions for its partners through a deal with Axcient/eFolder.
’We’re adding two of their products -- their cloud sync and share and their cloud-to-cloud backup,’ Ryan Walsh, chief channel officer for Pax8, told CRN. "We track what we hear from the partner community. [These products have] a good reputation.’
Anchor is a secure file-sharing program that allows mobile workers to access and swap files while on the go, using any device. Cloudfinder ensures data inside Microsoft Office 365 is restorable and protected via its cloud-to-cloud backup service.
’Pax8 and Axcient/eFolder target the same customer: MSPs focused on the SMB market,’ Jason Bystrak, vice president of the worldwide channel and distribution at eFolder, told CRN. ’They have developed a great value-add with their automated platform and PSA integrations. Our products also bundle nicely with other Pax8 solutions from Microsoft, Symantec and others, creating a great cross-sell opportunity.’
Walsh said the new products will be delivered through the Pax8 cloud marketplace for immediate provisioning, aggregated billing and automation. This gives partners more choices for their customers, he said.
’The way that we’ll launch is we’ll start with the file sync and share,’ he said. ’The timing of it and how we do it is really geared towards making sure that when it launches, we can auto-provision it. That’s the reason we stage these things. … This is an indication of vendors, looking at how they can be better.’
Through the agreement, Pax8 said it will simplify and streamline billing for MSPs and their clients through integrations with leading PSA providers. This enables MSPs to purchase Anchor and Cloudfinder within their preferred PSA tool through Pax8.
Pax8 partner Bret Meche, owner of Premier Data Systems in Lafayette, La., said the ease of the procurement experience with Pax8 is pushing him to buy many of his products through the Greenwood Villiage, Colo.-based cloud distributor.
’We are already on Anchor but we do plan on moving the billing over to Pax8 to keep it simple for us,’ he said. ’I will have to do some research on Cloudfinder to determine if we have a need for it We are in the process of switching over as many of our products to Pax8 as possible.’
