Alternative Technology Adds Citrix Online

Citrix Online products will enhance Alternative Technology's ability to offer hosted solutions to VARs, said Bill Botti, president and COO of Alternative Technology, Englewood, Colo.

"We continue to find new products and services that allow our resellers to increase their [gross profit] per sales call while providing their end users with significant value. Citrix Online is exactly that kind of solution," Botti said in a statement.

Citrix Online products include:

Citrix GoToAssist, a Web-based service that allows businesses to remotely assist their customers or employees and conduct online sales demos. It enables shared screen, mouse and keyboard control without installing software on the users' computers.

Citrix GoToMyPC, a remote PC access service that allows users to work on their computers through any Web browser. The service works through firewalls and doesn't require preinstalled client software.

Citrix GoToMeeting, which allows users to present information and demonstrate products in an unlimited number of secure online meetings for a flat fee.

The products integrate Citrix Online's core screen-sharing technology to provide realtime remote-control solutions, said Brett Caine, president of Citrix Online, a division of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Citrix Systems.
