Manugistics Unveils Inventory Software

The new Manugistics Inventory Policy Optimization product can help calculate the most effective inventory levels at different locations to maximize customer service levels, while also minimizing inventory costs, officials with the Rockville, Md., company said.

The software also enables companies to optimize inventory fill-rates while factoring in budget constraints.

"Determining the right amount of inventory to hold and the right locations in which to hold inventory is a long-standing issue of critical importance in achieving supply chain efficiency," Lori Mitchell-Keller, senior vice president for global marketing and product management for Manugistics, said in a statement.

Manugistics specializes in supply-chain management software for forecasting and inventory management.
