ConnectWise’s Incident Response Service Offers 24x7 Assistance To Assess Threats
‘Having this ability via trained experts with ConnectWise will help the partner concentrate on continuing to run their business while ConnectWise helps with 24x7 security response,’ Mark Essayian, president of MSP KME Systems, tells CRN.
ConnectWise this week introduced an Incident Response Service that provides around-the-clock access to cybersecurity experts when a cyberthreat or attack occurs. The team of cyber experts will provide immediate assistance to assess, contain and remediate threats to minimize impact and business disruption.
Tampa, Fla.-based ConnectWise’s service also helps with the recovery process by using forensic examination of system data, user activity and digital evidence to determine the extent of the threat as well as identify which threat actor may be involved. The service can be used by partners and those MSPs that aren’t partners.
Matthew Hildebrandt, president of StrataDefense, a Wausau, Wis.-based MSP and ConnectWise partner, said he looks forward “to hearing more about these new offerings and see how they align with our client needs, both from a service side and a cost perspective to determine overall value.”
“This is a world that we live in daily with our clients in the financial industry,” he told CRN. “Regulatory agencies have been discussing incident response and working with their regulated banks and credit unions to keep these discussions in a consistent state of review and testing for the reasons that ConnectWise has detailed.”
Mark Essayian, president of Lake Forest, Calif.-based MSP KME Systems, is glad to see ConnectWise increasing its security posture with the Incident Response service.
“I still talk to MSP owners who don’t have strong security measures in place or just don’t have the skill sets and experience to recover from an event,” he told CRN. “Having this ability via trained experts with ConnectWise will help the partner concentrate on continuing to run their business while ConnectWise helps with 24x7 security response.”
CRN reached out to ConnectWise for comment but had not heard back by press time.

“With a talent shortage, with more sophisticated threat actors and more technologies to protect, cybersecurity incidents can quickly overwhelm an MSP and their end clients and jeopardize protection of their client’s critical assets,” Raffael Marty, general manager of cybersecurity at ConnectWise, said in a statement. “Every second counts in a cyberattack, so having a team of security experts at a moment’s notice is a game-changing force multiplier for an MSP’s successful delivery of cybersecurity services. With this service, MSPs can confidently turn to ConnectWise to gain swift understanding and control of the situation to eradicate threats and prevent costly downtime.”
