PTC Launches Augmented Reality Solutions For Enterprise: Vuforia Studio Enterprise
PTC launched a new set of augmented reality solutions designed for the enterprise -- Vuforia Studio Enterprise -- at its annual LiveWorx conference in Boston on Tuesday.
The solutions, previously referred to as Project ThingX, are integrated with the ThingWorx Internet of Things platform, and add AR capabilities to connected devices and ecosystems.
"It's a new technology that fundamentally changes the way we experience the things in the Internet of Things," said Jim Heppelmann, president and CEO of Needham, Mass.-based PTC. "Vuforia Studio is aimed at making AR for the enterprise simple and scalable. We're on a mission to democratize AR and make its use mainstream for customers."
The solutions' simple interface allows for codeless AR authoring and publishing. PTC will also offer Vuforia View Enterprise, a mobile application.
Jay Wright, president and general manager of PTC Vuforia, also took the stage at LiveWorx to highlight a new partnership with Microsoft.
"Many of you have been asking for support on Windows to meet a variety of requirements," he said.
Through the partnership, Vuforia users can create experiences for Microsoft HoloLens.
