Demo: PTC Vuforia Studio AR Solution
PTC's new Vuforia Studio puts the enterprise front and center in its augmented reality solutions. Mike Campbell, executive vice president of the Needham, Mass.-based company, took the stage at LiveWorx this week in Boston to show off how the new solution allows for augmented reality content creation without coding.
The simple user interface supplies the builder with a list of resources, which can include graphics and computer-aided design data.
Rather than writing code, users can utilize widgets to build experience elements. Users can build off a 3-D canvas using ThingMark.
ThingMark contains code that links to a particular device, like a generator.
Vuforia Studio reduces large data sets by 150 times, "and it's still preserving all of the visual [accuracy], so you're going to have a compelling experience," said Campbell.
The experience can be published to the cloud and easily accessed through mobile devices and digital libraries.
Campbell said the solution is particularly valuable for sales and marketing scenarios.
