Lenovo Exec: At The End Of The Day, It's All About Expansion And Better Devices
Lenovo is ’staying at the forefront’ of the marketplace by putting its channel on a pedestal, as well as making strategic acquisitions and developing new products and better solutions, said Chun Lee, director of Lenovo’s U.S. Tier 2 VAR channel, Sunday.
’From a PC standpoint, we remain No. 1,’ said Lee. ’We’re focused in that space, we don’t want to lose our global leadership, and we will continue to invest. … At the end of the day, it’s all about expansion and better devices.’
Lee, who was speaking at theXChange 2016conference – hosted by CRN parent The Channel Company – said that Lenovo is a ’channel-first’ organization.
The company is split into four groups – the PC and smart device group, the mobility group, the data center group, and the innovator group to invest in new technology.
Lenovo has made a series of acquisitions to bolster each of these segments over the past few years.
But it's channel partners who make a big difference with sales and solutions, particularly in the hardware platform, said Lee.
’Lenovo’s trying to reach new business heights so you [channel partners] don’t turn into a dinosaur,’ said Lee.
