Microsoft GM: Accelerated Cloud Adoption Is A Major Focus
Accelerating cloud adoption will be one of Microsoft’s primary focuses during is fiscal year 2017, General Manager of U.S. Partner Enablement Joel Borellis told XChange 2016 attendees.
’When we talk about accelerated cloud adoption, we’re talking about everything,’ Borellis said. ’We’re talking about all the great infrastructure services that many of you are doing – if it’s backup and recovery, storage – all the great infrastructure services that we have in Azure to help a customer get to the cloud in that regard.’
Borellis said the company also wants to look at new workloads in the space, like the ability to enable developers to rework existing applications to run in Azure.
In Office 365, Borellis said, ’It’s all about E5,’ the newest bundle of applications and services that includes advanced business analytics, Skype Meetings Broadcast, and cloud-based call management.
’E5 has been a great opportunity for us and for our partners, and it’s a big part of what our priorities are currently,’ he said.
