Samsung Channel Chief Forecasts Tremendous Growth For Connected Devices In B2B Markets
Mobility giant Samsung predicts the B2B connected device market will grow by 3X by 2020, Samsung Vice President Greg Taylor told XChange 2016 attendees in San Antonio Tuesday.
Taylor said that today, there are more than 2 billion connected devices in the B2B world alone. The channel chief predicts the B2B space will have more than 7 billion devices in 2020, and the data created by those devices will create an invaluable feedback loop for businesses.
’A tremendous amount of analytics is being done against that data, and what’s spitting out against those analytics is ’triggers,’ and those ’triggers’ are creating actions that are feeding back to our devices, which then again go back into the data analytics and create more actions,’ Taylor said.
So, what’s the application in the real world?
’It can be a shopping experience, it can be listening to music, it can be watching a movie, it can be, from a business perspective, entering an establishment and them knowing who you are,’ Taylor said.
’So the connected world is growing,’ he said.
