Channel Beat: Apple Annual Revenue Drops, First Time In 15 Years
For the first time in 15 years, Apple saw annual revenue decline year over year.
This week the company reported that its 2016 revenue fell 7.7 percent from the year before.
Apple saw falling sales of iPhones and iPads, and sales in the Mac product line dropped 10.3 percent year over year.
Apple partners hope revenue will be boosted from new product launches this fall.
VMware reported $1.8 billion in sales this week for its Q3, a 6 percent increase from last year.
Those numbers beat analysts' expectations, and VMware stock jumped more than 2 percent in after-hours trading.
VMware has aggressively pursued a new hybrid cloud strategy through partnerships with IBM and AWS, as well as the VMware Cloud Foundation, a set of cloud services built around familiar software and tools.
Juniper Networks partners have expressed concerns over the company's performance in the security space, as it reported a 29 percent drop in security revenue in its Q3.
Despite that drop, Juniper's revenue for the quarter was up 3 percent year over year, beating analysts' expectations.
Juniper CEO Rami Rahim said the security business is in transition at the company.
