30 Notable IT Executive Moves: April 2024

Abacus Group, NexusTek, Astrica, Wipro, HP, Microsoft and Saviynt were among the tech companies making key executive hires and moves during April 2024.

New CEOs at Abacus Group, NexusTek, Astrica and Wipro were some of the biggest executive moves last month.

Anthony D’Ambrosi, formerly of ATSG; Hamilton Yu; Vicky Papa, formerly of NTT Data; and Srini Pallia, with Wipro for more than 30 years, are some of the executives to make major moves in April.

April Tech Exec Moves

HP, Microsoft and Saviynt were among the other tech giants to make executive moves during the month as companies invest in resources for sales, technology and partners.

Those executives were:

All the hiring comes despite multiple tech giants cutting their employee counts, with recent layoffs at Google, ConnectWise, AWS, Intel and others.

But some vendors and solution providers alike are looking to AI and other technology advancements as potential sparks for business IT spending.

Vicky Papa

Vicky Papa joined Astrica in April as its CEO.

Papa came to the Boston-based ServiceNow solution provider after more than six years with NTT Data and Nexient, according to her LinkedIn account. She left NTT with the title of senior vice president of Launch by NTT. NTT bought Nexient in 2021.

Her resume includes about two years with Primitive Logic. Papa left Primitive Logic in 2017 with the title of account and delivery director.

Nadia Bollinger

Nadia Bollinger joined HP in April as vice president of solutions.

In this role, she is “responsible for developing end-to-end solutions to enable the future of work using hardware, software, services, and supplies from both HP and third parties,” according to her LinkedIn account.

Bollinger came to the Palo Alto, Calif.-based computer maker after more than two years with Amazon Web Services, according to her LinkedIn account. She left AWS with the title of global head of energy and utilities, media and entertainment, and gaming partner solutions architecture.

Her resume includes more than 17 years with ExxonMobil. She left the energy giant in 2021 with the title of senior IT operations manager and senior leadership team member.

HP has about 250,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Srini Pallia

In April, Srini Pallia ascended to the role of CEO and managing director of Wipro, replacing Thierry Delaporte.

Pallia has worked for more than 30 years at the India-based company – No. 15 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500. He previously served as Wipro’s CEO of the Americas for about three years.

He joined Wipro in 1992 as a product manager, according to his LinkedIn account.

Jason Taylor

Microsoft hired Jason Taylor in April as corporate vice president and deputy chief technology officer of artificial intelligence infrastructure.

He will work on “AI supercomputing efforts” and work with Microsoft-backed OpenAI on building “the next set of systems that will push the frontier of AI forward for us all,” according to a LinkedIn post.

Taylor joined the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant after more than 13 years with Facebook and parent company Meta, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company with the title of vice president of infrastructure.

Microsoft is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Anthony D’Ambrosi

Abacus Group brought on Anthony D’Ambrosi as its CEO in April, replacing Chris Grandi.

D’Ambrosi joined the New York-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after more than six years as CEO of ATSG, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes more than four years with Bell Techlogix. He left the company in 2016 with the title of president.

Hamilton Yu

Hamilton Yu became NexusTek’s CEO in April, succeeding Bill Wosilius.

Yu joined the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after more than seven years with IBM and Taos. Yu led Taos as CEO starting in 2016 and led the company to its 2021 acquisition by IBM. He left IBM with the title of senior partner and Americas platform engineering services practice leader, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes about six years with Nuance, leaving the company in 2016 with the title of vice president of the enterprise division.

Amira Hossain

Amira Hossain joined Science Applications International Corp. in April, taking on the role of SAIC’s senior vice president and corporate development officer.

Hossain came to the Reston, Va.-based system integrator after more than four years with ICF. She left ICF with the title of global head and SVP of corporate development and integration, according to her LinkedIn account.

Her resume includes about four years with spices company McCormick & Co. Hossain left the company in 2020 with the title of global head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) integration and corporate development.

Henrique Bernardes B. Teixeira

In April, Henrique Bernardes B. Teixeira joined Saviynt as senior vice president of strategy.

In this role, he will set “company direction and long-term strategy for identity and access management messaging, defining and leading research, advisory, and thought leadership, supporting both our IAM product lines and Saviynt clients,” according to his LinkedIn account.

Teixeira came to the El Segundo, Calif.-based identity platform vendor after more than five years with Gartner, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the research firm with the title of vice president of research of IAM.

His resume includes more than eight years with IBM on and off. His most recent stint with the vendor ended in 2019 with the title of worldwide security architect leader for security systems IAM.

Saviynt has about 300 channel partners worldwide and 200 in North America, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Jason Yau

Jason Yau joined Salesforce in April, taking on the role of senior vice president and architect in the office of the CEO.

Yau came to the San Francisco-based customer relationship management (CRM) tools vendor after about a year with SPARC Group, the parent of Reebok, Nautica, Aeropostale, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer and Forever 21 and Lucky Brand jeans, accordingto his LinkedIn account. He served as CPARC’s interim chief technology officer.

His resume includes more than a year with Shopify. He left the company with the title of global enterprise CTO, according to his LinkedIn.

Salesforce has about 12,000 channel partners worldwide.

Ismail Amla

Ismail Amla became senior vice president of Kyndryl Consult at the solution provider.

Amla joined the New York-based company – No. 8 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than two years with NCR and NCR Voyix, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Voyix with the title of executive vice president of professional services and strategy. NCR split into Voyix and NCR Atleos in 2023.

His resume includes more than two years with IBM Global Business Services, according to his LinkedIn account. He left IBM in 2018 with the title of North America managing partner. IBM spun off Kyndryl in 2021.

Tom Evans

Cloudflare hired Tom Evans in April as its first-ever chief partner officer.

Evans joined the San Francisco-based security vendor after more than six years at Palo Alto Networks, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Palo Alto Networks with the title of channel chief and vice president of worldwide channel sales.

His resume includes more than a year with K2, leaving the company in 2017 as vice president of global channels and business development.

Evans also worked at F5 Networks for about 10 years, leaving in 2016 with the title of senior director of channel sales and distribution, according to his LinkedIn account.

Cloudflare is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

John Hurley

In April, Optiv brought John Hurley on as chief revenue officer.

Hurley came to the Denver-based security vendor after more than two years with Quantum, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Quantum with the title of chief revenue officer.

His resume includes more than 20 years on and off with Cisco. He left Cisco in 2021 with the title of vice president of the global commercial segment.

Optiv is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Scott Forbush

Nextiva promoted Scott Forbush to the role of channel chief in April.

Forbush has worked at the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based customer experience technology vendor for about a year, according to his LinkedIn account. He previously served as a vice president of channel.

His resume includes about two years with PPT Solutions. He left PPT in 2023 with the title of senior vice president of global sales.

About 65 percent of Nextiva’s overall sales come through indirect channel and alliance relationships, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Brian Gumbel

In April, Dataminr brought Brian Gumbel on as president and chief operating officer.

Gumbel joined the New York-based event discovery platform provider after more than three years with Armis, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Armis with the title of president.

His resume includes about a year with Sisense as chief revenue officer and about four years with ForeScout Technologies. Gumbel left Sisense in 2020 and ForeScout in 2019 with the title of senior vice president of worldwide sales.

Eric Nowak

Arrow Electronics promoted Eric Nowak to the role of global enterprise computing solutions president, succeeding Kristin Russell.

Nowak has been with the Centennial, Colo.-based distributor for almost 20 years, joining in 2005 with the Logix Group acquisition, according to Arrow’s website.

Before his promotion, Nowak served as Arrow’s ECS president of computing solutions business segment in the Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), Australia and New Zealand regions.

Arrow is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs. The distributor has more than 3,000 channel partners worldwide, according to Arrow.

Kunal Anand

Kunal Anand became chief technology officer at F5 in April.

Anand joined the Seattle-based security vendor after more than 10 years with Prevoty and Imperva, according to his LinkedIn account.

He co-founded Prevoty in 2013 and served as the company’s chief technology officer. Imperva bought Prevoty in 2018 and Anand served as Imperva’s CTO and chief information security officer. Imperva sold to Thales in 2023.

F5 has about 2,000 channel partners worldwide and 400 in North America, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Chad Romero

Juniper Networks hired Chad Romero in April as an area vice president of enterprise sales.

Romero came to the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based networking vendor after more than 15 years with Cisco, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Cisco with the title of senior director of Americas strategic engagement, services and software sales.

His resume includes more than seven years with Avaya, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Avaya in 2009 with the title of solution architect manager.

Juniper is a member of CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Dan Zaniewski

In April, Dan Zaniewski became senior vice president of engineering at Auvik.

Zaniewski joined the Waterloo, Ontario-based network management tools vendor after about a year with Cork, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Cork with the title of chief technology officer.

His resume includes more than eight years with Datto. He left Datto in 2023 with the title of vice president of software engineering.

Auvik has about 100 channel partners worldwide and 75 in North America, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs

Leon Jones

Leon Jones joined Chainguard in April as vice president of partnerships.

Jones came to the Kirkland, Wash.-based open source security software vendor after about two years with HashiCorp, according to his LinkedIn account. He left HashiCorp with the title of channel chief – his formal title was vice president of the worldwide partner ecosystem.

His resume includes more than 20 years with Microsoft and Microsoft subsidiary GitHub. He worked his way up to the role of Microsoft’s worldwide Intelligent Cloud open source on Azure development senior director from 2014 to 2019 before becoming GitHub’s head of partner and channel from 2019 to 2022. Microsoft bought GitHub in 2018.

Dena Bauckman

Dena Bauckman became senior vice president of product at Sectigo in April.

Bauckman came to the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based certificate lifecycle management platform vendor after more than 18 years with Zix and OpenText, according to her LinkedIn account. She left OpenText with the title of vice president of product management and engineering.

OpenText bought Zix in 2021. Sectigo is part of CRN’s 2024 Partner Program Guide.

Ken Rutsky

In April, Aryaka hired Ken Rutsky as chief marketing officer.

Rutsky joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based secure networking vendor after about 14 years as a go-to-market consultant. Clients included FireEye, SkyHigh Networks and Sophos, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes about two years with McAfee and Secure Computing, which McAfee bought in 2008. Rutsky left McAfee in 2009 with the title of vice president of product marketing for the network security business unit.

Aryaka has about 2,500 channel partners worldwide and 1,700 in North America, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Natallia Beliakova

Intuitive hired Natallia Beliakova in April as chief alliance officer.

Beliakova came to the Iselin, N.J.-based company – No. 361 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after about five years with ClearScale, according to her LinkedIn account. She left ClearScale with the title of chief revenue officer.

Her resume includes more than three years with Onica. She left the company in 2019 – the same year Rackspace bought the Amazon Web Services partner. Beliakova left Onica with the title of vice president of business development.

Michael Kirke

In April, Synoptek brought on Michael Kirke as vice president of digital enterprise solutions.

Kirke joined the Irvine, Calif.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after more than seven years on and off with IBM, according to his LinkedIn account. He left IBM most recently with the title of Microsoft Dynamics 365 sales and delivery executive.

His resume includes about two years with KPMG. He left the company in 2022 with the title of Dynamics 365 director.

Bill McCarthy

Focus Technology hired Bill McCarthy in April, tasking him with the role of senior vice president of managed services.

McCarthy joined the Boston-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after more than four years with Methods Machine Tools, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes about eight years with NWN, according to his LinkedIn account.

Karalee Close

Karalee Close became the global lead for Accenture’s Talent & Organization practice, joining the company’s Global Management Committee.

In this role, she “will lead and expand Accenture’s Talent & Organization practice, which helps companies and their leaders fuel sustainable growth by connecting people and technology to unlock human ingenuity; finding ways to access, create and unlock new talent; and designing an organization built to thrive amid change,” according to a company statement.

Close joined the Ireland-based company – No. 1 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than 23 years with Boston Consulting Group, according to her LinkedIn account. She left BCG with the title of managing director, senior partner and vice chair of tech and digital.

Thomas Terjesen

Thomas Terjesen returned to Peraton in April, taking on the role of chief information officer.

Terjesen came to the Reston, Va.-based company – No. 19 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than two years with ASRC Federal, according to his LinkedIn account. He left ASRC with the title of senior vice president and CIO.

He joined Peraton in 2021 with the acquisition of Perspecta, where he was VP of IT operations and infrastructure. Terjesen left Peraton in 2022 with the title of VP of IT.

Patrick Thompson

DXC Technology hired Patrick Thompson as its senior vice president of enterprise transformation in April.

Thompson joined the Ashburn, Va.-based company – No. 10 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than six years with Albemarle Corp., according to his Linkedin account. He left Albemarle with the title of executive vice president, chief information and digital transformation officer.

His resume includes more than four years with Amedisys. He left the company in 2014 with the title of EVP for operations and chief information and transformation officer.

Mark D'Alessandro

Mark D'Alessandro became chief technology officer at Four Points Technology.

D'Alessandro joined the Herndon, Va.-based company – No. 83 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than 27 years with Dell Technologies, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Dell with the title of vice president and senior director of data center account executives.

During this time, he collaborated “on data driven GTM strategy and driving infrastructure solutions business within Fed Channels including, Systems Integrators, LVAR & Distribution,” according to his LinkedIn account. He “grew Fed VAR data center REV from 1.2B to 3.1B” and “grew Federal SI Rev from 350M to 771M via SFDC, MEDDPIC and KPIs.”

Nima Khamooshi

In April, Dataprise made Nima Khamooshi its vice president of cybersecurity, according to a company statement.

He “will lead Dataprise’s Managed Cybersecurity business as the company expands its position as the nation’s preferred MSSP” spearhead security product development and innovations, and deliver advanced security advisory services and consulting to clients,” according to the statement.

Khamooshi came to the Rockville, Md.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500 – after about four years with Lumen Technologies. He left Lumen with the title of global information security services leader, according to his LinkedIn account.

Brett Barton

Unisys made Brett Barton vice president and global artificial intelligence practice leader in April.

Barton came to the Blue Bell, Pa.-based company – No. 34on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than two years with Slalom, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company after serving as chief information officer and chief data officer.

His resume includes about 10 years on and off with Sense Corp. He left the company with the title of CIO and managing director in 2021, the same year Sense Corp. sold to CGI.
