30 Notable IT Executive Moves: August 2024

TD Synnex, Skyhigh Security, Leidos, Microsoft, NetApp and Salesforce were among the tech companies making key executive hires and moves in August 2024.

A chief information security officer at TD Synnex. A chief technology officer at Skyhigh Security. And a chief data officer at Leidos.

Alicia Lynch, formerly with Cognizant; Steve Tait, formerly with Snow Software; and Kris Mork, formerly with Guidehouse, were some of the biggest executive moves in August.

August Tech Executive Moves

Microsoft, NetApp and Salesforce were among the other tech giants to make executive moves during the month as companies invest in resources for sales, technology and partners.

Those executives were:

The U.S. job market added 142,000 jobs in August, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Unemployment fell to 4.2 percent from 4.3 percent the prior month.

The Federal Reserve has shown a likelihood of cutting interest rates this month, with unemployment above the 3.5 percent experienced when the Fed stopped increasing its interest rates and inflation down from a mid-2022 peak of about 7 percent, according to Reuters.

Karen Parkhill

HP hired Karen Parkhill as its new chief financial officer in August.

Parkhill came to the Palo Alto, Calif.-based computer maker after about eight years with Medtronic, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Medtronic with the CFO title.

Her resume includes about five years with Comerica Bank, leaving in 2016 with the CFO title.

Steve Tait

In August, Skyhigh Security named Steve Tait its chief technology officer.

Tait came to the San Jose, Calif.-based security vendor after about two years as Snow Software’s CTO, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes about four years with Calyx, leaving the company in 2022 with the title of vice president of engineering.

About 99 percent of Skyhigh’s overall sales come through indirect channel and alliance relationships, accordingto CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Adam Dumey

Adam Dumey joined World Wide Technology in August, taking on the role of global vice president of retail.

Dumey came to the Maryland Heights, Mo.-based company–a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500–after about three years with Amazon Web Services (AWS), according to his LinkedIn account. He left AWS with the title of global go-to-market (GTM) leader for the checkout-less Just Walk Out stores.

His resume includes more than seven years with IBM, leaving in 2021 with the title of senior account executive.

Kris Mork

In August, Kris Mork became chief data officer of Leidos.

Mork was hired by the Reston, Va.-based company–No. 10 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after more than two years with Guidehouse, according to their LinkedIn account. They left Guidehouse with the title of director of data assets and governance.

Their resume includes about 11 years on and off with Mitre, according to Mork’s LinkedIn account. They left Mitre in 2022 with the title of chief data wizard.

Paul Rodrigues

Paul Rodrigues joined Microsoft in August as chief artificial intelligence officer of the National Security Group.

“I’m eager to harness the next generation of AI solutions to strengthen national security with our clients and trusted partners and drive innovation across the federal landscape,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post.

Rodrigues came to the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant after less than a year as CEO of Magic Spark, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes more than four years with Accenture, leaving in 2023 with the title of principal director of data science innovation for the federal services business.

Alicia Lynch

Alicia Lynch became chief information security officer of TD Synnex in August.

Lynch joined the Clearwater, Fla.-based IT distributor after about two years with Cognizant, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Cognizant with the title of CISO and chief security officer.

Her resume includes more than three years with Science Applications International Corp. She left SAIC in 2021 with the CISO title.

Lynch served in the United States Army for more than 26 years, attaining the rank of brigade commander, according to her LinkedIn account.

Aliona Groh

Aliona Groh became senior vice president of brand marketing at ThreatLocker in August.

Groh was brought on by the Orlando, Fla.-based security vendor after about a year with Allari, accordingto her LinkedIn account. She left Allari with the title of managing director of growth marketing.

With Allari, she “boosted online visibility with a targeted SEO project, achieving a 2,939% increase in referral traffic and a 306.9% rise in new website users” and “drove a 426.3% surge in LinkedIn engagement,” according to her LinkedIn account.

Her resume includes about four years with Adacel, leaving in 2023 with the title of marketing and communications director.

Betty Junod

Betty Junod became chief marketing officer for Salesforce’s Heroku application building and operating platform-as-a-service (PaaS) product in August.

Junod joined the San Francisco-based customer relationship management (CRM) vendor after about 10 years on and off with VMware, according to her LinkedIn account.

She left VMware most recently with the role of “global head of marketing for VMware’s Modern Apps & Management business group's portfolio including CloudFoundry, Spring, Tanzu Application Platform, Tanzu for Kubernetes Operations, CloudHealth, Bitnami, Greenplum, related open source projects, and more.”

Her resume includes about two years with Solo.io, leaving in 2020 with the title of vice president of marketing, according to her LinkedIn account.

Salesforce has about 12,000 partners worldwide.

Ronil Mokashi

Ronil Mokashi became vice president of cloud storage engineering in August at NetApp.

Mokashi came to the San Jose, Calif.-based data infrastructure vendor after more than 12 years with Amazon and Amazon Web Services, according to his LinkedIn account. He left AWS with the title of head of CloudFront and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) data plane organization.

He joined Amazon as a software engineer in 2011, according to his LinkedIn account.

Janis Shearer

Janis Shearer returned to Okta in August, taking on the role of global vice president for demand marketing.

Shearer came to the San Francisco-based identity tools vendor after about three years with OneTrust, according to her LinkedIn account. She left OneTrust with the title of senior VP of global demand marketing.

She previously left Okta in 2022 after about three years with Okta and its subsidiary Auth0, acquired in 2022. She left Okta with the title of VP of global campaigns and Auth0 demand generation.

Okta has about 1,600 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Marci Paino

In August, Marci Paino joined Cisco as chief learning officer and vice president of professional and employee development.

Paino came to the San Jose, Calif.-based networking giant after more than five years with Western Digital, according to her LinkedIn account.

Her resume includes about six years with American Express, leaving in 2019 with the title of director of enterprise learning experiences, global talent, leadership and learning.

Brent Collins

Intel hired Brent Collins in August, tasking him with the role of vice president of technology strategy.

Collins came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker after nine years with World Wide Technology, according to his LinkedIn account. He left WWT with the title of area vice president for global solutions and architectures.

During his time with WWT, he “led the build out of Generative AI and expansion of WWT’s AI & Data Solutions business” and the “Cyber Recovery and Modern Data Center solutions businesses,” according to his LinkedIn account. He “spearheaded new strategic solution initiatives, capitalizing on market transitions, resulting in scaled solution areas of $1B+” and “supervised teams of 50+ with indirect reports of 100+.”

His resume includes about a year with Citrix and about a year with Dell. He left Citrix in 2015 with the title of strategic alliances manager and left Dell in 2013 with the title of data center strategist.

Chris Knapik

In August, Hewlett Packard Enterprise brought on a vice president of business simplification – Chris Knapik.

In this role, he is “accountable for driving business simplification across OLAA (the Office of Legal and Administrative Affairs) and HPE more broadly, in line with priorities set by the HPE Chief Operating Officer” and leads “a business process operations team consisting of 90+ professionals,” according to his LinkedIn account.

Knapik joined the Houston-based business IT giant after more than 10 years with PepsiCo, according to his LinkedIn account. He left PepsiCo with the title of process transformation senior director.

Steve Stone

SentinelOne landed a new senior vice president of threat intelligence and managed hunting in August – Steve Stone.

Stone joined the Mountain View, Calif.-based security vendor after about two years with Rubrik, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Rubrik with the title of head of Zero Labs.

His resume includes about four years with Mandiant, leaving in 2022 as VP of adversary operations. That is also the year Google acquired the security vendor.

Stone also served as a special agent with the U.S. Air Force’s Office of Special Investigations, according to his LinkedIn account.

David Wellman

David Wellman was brought on by Kaseya in August, taking on the role of vice president of product finance.

Wellman joined the Miami-based IT management tools vendor after about eight years with Alorica, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Alorica with the title of VP of finance and financial planning and analysis (FP&A).

His resume includes about five years with Broadcom, according to his LinkedIn account. He left in 2016 with the title of finance manager.

Kaseya has about 50,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Dave Rogers

In August, Dave Rogers became senior vice president of alliances ecosystems at Palo Alto Networks.

Rogers joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based security vendor after more than six years with Netskope, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Netskope with the title of SVP of global alliances and channel sales.

His resume includes about two years with Optiv. He left the company in 2019 with the title of VP of cloud security business development, according to his Linkedin account.

Palo Alto Networks has about 15,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Mayank Singhvi

Mayank Singhvi became chief financial officer of Liongard in August.

Singhvi joined the Houston-based security vendor after about four years with Eon Reality, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Eon with the CFO title.

During his time with Eon, he “revamped the finance team across all global entities, dramatically enhancing operational efficiency by reducing the financial closing process from 27 days to 4 days—an 85% improvement,” according to his LinkedIn account. He also “led the transformative shift in our business model from traditional equipment and software to an AI-based XR (SaaS) platform, successfully increasing our company’s valuation from approximately 5x to 10x.”

His resume includes about four years with Securonix, leaving in 2020 as vice president of finance.

Anna Sever

Conduent named a new president of government solutions in August–Anna Sever.

In this role, she “has end-to-end responsibility over our portfolio of Eligibility and Enrollment and Government Healthcare Solutions helping government agencies across the U.S. transform their operations, better serve constituents, and create more satisfying outcomes for people and communities served,” according to the company’s website.

Sever came to the Florham Park, N.J.-based company–No. 24 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after about about three years with Magellan Federal, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Magellan as CEO and president.

Her resume includes about seven years with Maximus, leaving the company in 2020 as vice president of health strategy and business development.

Tara Radford

Tara Radford became senior vice president of legal finance for North America at Capgemini in August.

Radford joined the France-based company–No. 4 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after more than two years with Adecco, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Adecco with the title of SVP of finance.

Her resume includes about a year with Honeywell. She left the company in 2022 with the title of VP and chief financial officer for Honeywell’s connected buildings and connected enterprise businesses.

Dave Gore

General Dynamics IT hired a new vice president of growth in August–Dave Gore.

Gore was brought on by the Falls Church, Va.-based company–No. 14 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after about eight years with CACI, according to his LinkedIn account. He left CACI with the title of VP of business development.

At CACI, he served “as Deputy Business Development Executive for the National Security and Innovative Solutions (NSIS) Sector ($2.3B)” and was “responsible for assisting with leading business development and strategy organization (50+ FTEs) in pursuit of new business in CACI’s C4ISR, Cyber, Space and Engineering Services markets,” according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes about four years with Raytheon, leaving the company in 2016 with the title of director of business development and strategy.

Jeff Pearson

In August, Presidio hired Jeff Pearson as vice president of cloud strategy and alliances.

Pearson came to the New York-based company–No. 21 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after about seven years with Slalom Consulting, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Slalom with the title of managing director of the Amazon Web Services business.

At Slalom, he “quadrupled Slalom’s AWS revenue” and “grew joint business with AWS Professional Services by 10X” among other achievements, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes about eight years with Prolifiq, leaving in 2017 with the title of chief operating officer.

Amy Rall

Amy Rall became president of the citizen security and public services team at Peraton in August.

Rall joined the Reston, Va.-based company–No. 23 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after about two years with Digital Management, according to her LinkedIn account. She left DMI with the title of president of its federal government business.

Her resume includes more than a year as CEO of Linkware, according to her LinkedIn account.

Alan Grantham

Ahead hired Alan Grantham in August, tasking him with the role of vice president of security consulting.

Grantham came to the Chicago-based company–No. 30 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after about a year with BlueVoyant, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company with the title of senior VP of global pre-sales engineering and, during his time with BlueVoyant, saw “growth of 47% YoY sales.”

His resume includes about 16 years with Sirius Computer Solutions and Forsythe Technology. Sirius bought Foresythe in 2017 and was itself bought by CDW in 2021. He left the company in 2022 with the title of VP of cloud.

Doug Kollme

In August, Doug Kollme became chief financial officer of Iron Bow Technologies.

Kollme joined the Herndon, Va.-based company–a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500–after about a year with Customer Value Partners, according to his LinkedIn account. He left CVP with the title of CFO.

His resume includes about three years with The Buffalo Group, leaving in 2021 with the CFO title. The cyber and intelligence services company sold to Jacobs in 2020.

Craig Ottaviani

Advizex hired a new vice president and general manager of the Ohio Valley and Pittsburgh area in August–Craig Ottaviani.

Ottaviani joined the Independence, Ohio-based company–a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500–after about two years with Cohesity, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company with the title of senior director of sales.

His resume includes about two years with Sirius Computer Solutions, leaving in 2022 with the title of sales director and general manager for Pennsylvania and Eastern New York. CDW bought Sirius in 2021.

Alex Ryals

MicroAge hired Alex Ryals as its vice president of cybersecurity solutions and strategy in August.

Ryals joined the Phoenix-based company–a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500–after about two years with Ping Identity, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Ping with the title of vice president of channel sales.

His resume includes about five years with TD Synnex and its predecessor Tech Data. He left the distributor in 2022 with the title of global vice president for security solutions. Tech Data and Synnex merged in 2021.

Dani Schooley

Dani Schooley joined UDT in August as senior vice president of supply chain.

Schooley was brought on by the Miramar, Fla.-based company–a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500–after about 11 years with HAVI, according to her LinkedIn account. She left HAVI with the title of senior director of North American supply chain planning, working with restaurants including McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A.

Her resume includes more than six years with Sears. She left the retailer with the title of fitness equipment buyer, a “$235M+ in annual sales and more than $75M margin” business for the company, according to her LinkedIn account.

Donald Davis

TTEC Digital brought on Donald Davis in August as vice president of sales engineering.

Davis joined the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based company–No. 89 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after about 17 years with Microsoft and Nuance, according to his LinkedIn account. Microsoft bought Nuance in 2022.

He left Microsoft with “a senior management role in the Enterprise Deal Desk, managing a team responsible for driving the ‘quote to cash’ sales operational processes for $400M+ of annual net new bookings,” according to his LinkedIn account. “This team was formed to support the overall sales process offloading deal processes, and will allow the general sales team to spend more focus on meeting and selling to their customer.”

Peter Barth

In August, QTS Data Centers hired Peter Barth, tasking him with the role of vice president of utility technical services.

Barth joined the Overland Park, Kan.-based company–No. 73 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–after more than 10 years with Black & Veatch, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company as a project director.

His resume includes more than seven years with Stanley Consultants. He left the company in 2014 as an electrical engineer.

Jason Myers

Jason Myers returned to Evotek in August, taking on the role of chief revenue officer.

Myers left the Solana Beach, Calif.-based company–No. 92 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500–earlier this year with the title of vice president of sales, according to his LinkedIn account. He worked at Redapt as CRO until coming back to Evotek.

His resume includes about seven years with FusionStorm, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company in 2018 with the title of vice president of strategic sales. FusionStorm was acquired by Computacenter in 2018.
