30 Notable IT Executive Moves: May 2024

Pax8, GuidePoint Security, Zones, AWS, Oracle and Salesforce were among the tech companies making key executive hires and moves during May 2024.

Scott Chasin, formerly with ProtectWise; Rachel Haag, formerly of Workato; and Neal Campbell, formerly of CDW, were some of the biggest executive moves in May.

May Tech Exec Moves

Amazon Web Services, Oracle and Salesforce were among the other tech giants to make executive moves during the month as companies invest in resources for sales, technology and partners.

Rachel Haag

Haag became the new CMO at GuidePoint Security in May.

The Herndon, Va.-based company—a memberof CRN’s 2024 MSP 500—hired Haag after she worked at Workato for about two years, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Workato with the title of senior director of the global partner program and marketing.

Her resume includes about five years with Cisco Systems, according to her LinkedIn account. Haag left Cisco in 2021 with the title of director of global revenue marketing for cloud security.

Neal Campbell

In May, Campbell became senior vice president and chief commercial officer of Zones, according to his LinkedIn account.

Campbell joined the Auburn, Wash.-based company—a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500—after more than seven years with CDW, according to his LinkedIn account. He left CDW with the title of senior vice president of strategic solutions and services.

His resume includes more than two years as CEO of TrafficCast, which provides predictive traffic information to big tech companies and public sector markets. He left TrafficCast in 2011.

Joe Vidal

In a May post to LinkedIn, Vidal said he had retired from Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

Vidal has been in the IT space for more than 35 years, according to the post. His most recent position was Houston-based HPE’s GreenLake chief technologist in the office of the North America CTO, according to his LinkedIn account. He held the role for more than a year.

“I'm considering independent Consulting with HPE's Channel Partners and Distribution Network,” Vidal wrote on LinkedIn. “The best parts of my stint at HPE/hp/Compaq were always helping to teach our Channel Partners how to position HPE in order to be more successful, win more Hybrid Cloud Opps and make more money, while having fun!”

Scott Chasin

Chasin became CEO of Pax8 in May, replacing John Street.

Chasin previously served as CTOr of the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based IT distributor, according to his LinkedIn account. He held the CTO title for more than two years.

His resume includes founding and leading multiple successful technology startups including USA.NET, MX Logic and ProtectWise.

Pax8 has more than 30,000 channel partners worldwide and more than 23,000 in North America, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Anju Gupta

In May, Gupta joined SAP as global vice president of product management, according to her LinkedIn account.

Gupta came to the Germany-based enterprise application software vendor after more than eight years with Coupa Software, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Coupa with the title of product management vie president.

Her resume includes more than a year with Simco Electronics. She left Simco in 2015 with the title of strategy and product management director.

Rob Duhart

Duhart joined Oracle in May, taking on the role of senior vice president and CISO of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Duhart came to the Austin, Texas-based database products vendor after more than two years with Walmart, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Walmart with the title of eCommerce CISO and deputy CISO.

His resume includes more than a year with Google, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Google in 2021 with the title of global head of federated security. Duhart also served as a security professional in the U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Defense as well as the FBI for about 10 years.

Baskar Sridharan

Amazon Web Services hired Sridharan in May as vice president of AI and machine learning services and infrastructure.

Sridharan joined the Seattle-based cloud vendor after more than five years with Google Cloud, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Google with the title of vice president of engineering for Google Compute Infrastructure.

His resume includes more than 15 years with Microsoft, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company in 2018 with the title of partner director of software engineering for Azure Data Lake and Cosmos.

AWS has about 130,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Sharmey Shah

Shah returned to Salesforce in May, taking on the role of vice president of global consumer goods, according to her LinkedIn account.

Shah came to the San Francisco-based CRM software vendor after more than two years with Confluent, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Confluent with the title of area vice president of national accounts in the Northeast, Heartland and Great Lakes regions.

She previously worked at Salesforce for more than three years, leaving in 2022 with the title of regional vice president for large enterprise. Salesforce has about 12,000 partners worldwide.

Micki Warner

Warner joined Capgemini in May as a vice president “focused on delivering customer business and transformation program outcomes,” according to her LinkedIn account.

Warner came to the France-based company—No. 4 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after more than 16 years with Accenture, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Accenture with the title of managing director and operations portfolio lead.

Her resume includes about four years with Ariba and Alliente. She left Ariba in 2005 with the title of senior director of operations. Ariba bought Alliente in 2004. SAP bought Ariba in 2012.

Ken Schock

Skyhigh Security has a new CRO with the hiring Ken Schock in May.

Schock joined the San Jose, Calif.-based security vendor after about a year with Oomnitza, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Oomnitza with the CRO title.

His resume includes more than a year with AttackIQ, also as CRO, according to his LinkedIn account. He left AttackIQ in 2023.

About 99 percent of overall Skyhigh sales come through indirect channel and alliance relationships, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Jason Lish

Lish became global CISO for Cisco in May, according to his LinkedIn account.

Lish joined the San Jose, Calif.-based networking vendor after working at Lumen Technologies for more than three years, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Lumen with the title of chief security officer.

His resume includes about two years with Advisor Group. He left the organization in 2021 with the title of chief security, privacy and data officer.

Lish served in the U.S. Air Force for more than six years, leaving in 2004 as a systems analyst, according to his LinkedIn account.

Rik Thorbecke

Thorbecke became CFO of ConnectWise in May.

Thorbecke came to the Tampa, Fla.-based MSP business management platform provider after about two years as CFO of Virgin Pulse, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes about a year as CFO of Jitterbit. He left the company in 2021, according to his LinkedIn account.

ConnectWise has about 44,000 channel partners worldwide and 40,000 in North America, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Kevin O’Buckley

In May, Intel brought on O’Buckley as its senior vice president and Foundry general manager, according to his LinkedIn account.

O’Buckley joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker after more than five years with Marvell and Avera, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Marvell with the title of senior vice president. Marvell bought Avera in 2019.

His resume includes more than five years with GlobalFoundries. He left the company in 2019 with the title of vice president of product development.

Craig Martell

Cohesity landed a new CTO in May with the hiring of Martell.

Martell joined the San Jose, Calif.-based data protection and insights vendor after about two years as chief digital and AI officer of the Department of Defense, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes about two years as head of machine learning at Lyft, according to his LinkedIn account.

About 100 percent of Cohesity’s overall sales come through indirect channel and alliance relationships, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Myke Lyons

Lyons became CISO of Cribl in May, according to his LinkedIn account.

Lyons joined the San Francisco-based IT and security data engine vendor after about a year with Snyk, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Snyk with the CISO title.

His resume includes more than three years as CISO of Collibra. He left the company in 2022.

Cribl has about 200 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Adam Anderson

In May, Anderson joined Zscaler as senior vice president of growth marketing, according to his LinkedIn account.

As senior vice president of growth marketing, he “will provide strategic leadership to the team responsible for global demand generation, enabling our team to capitalize on every sales opportunity and drive deeper customer engagement for a seamless customer experience,” accordingto a Zscaler post on LinkedIn.

Anderson came to the San Jose, Calif.-based security vendor after more than two years with Twilio, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Twilio with the title of vice president of global marketing for the data and applications business unit.

Zscaler has about 3,600 channel partners worldwide and 1,500 in North America, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Karen Reid

Kaseya hired Reid in May as a senior vice president involved in special projects, according to her LinkedIn account.

Reid joined the Miami-based IT distributor after about two years with CIBT, according to her LinkedIn account. She left CIBT with the title of COO.

Her resume includes about a year with EagleView. She left the company in 2022 with the title of head of the special projects group.

Kaseya has about 50,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Colin Fleming

ServiceNow landed a new chief marketing officer in May with the hiring of Fleming.

Fleming joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based business automation vendor after about 13 years with Salesforce, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Salesforce with the title of executive vice president of global marketing.

He previously worked as a professional racecar driver, raising more than $15 million in funding from corporate entities including Red Bull, Chrysler and Western Union, according to his LinkedIn account. He left racing in 2007.

ServiceNow has 2,200 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2024 Channel Chiefs.

Arnab Chakraborty

Accenture promoted Chakraborty in May, making him the company’s first ever chief responsible AI officer.

Chakraborty has been with Accenture—No. 1 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—since 2012, according to his LinkedIn account. He previously held the role of senior managing director of data and AI.

His resume includes more than seven years with Hewlett-Packard. He left the company in 2012 with the title of director for HP global analytics, according to his LinkedIn account. Hewlett-Packard split into Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP in 2015.

James Faherty

In May, Verinext landed a new vice president of financial planning and analysis with the hiring of Faherty.

Faherty joined the Blue Bell, Pa.-based company—a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500—after more than two years with Icahn Automotive, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Icahn with the title of vice president of commercial finance.

His resume includes more than two years with Caire, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Caire with the title of FP&A director in 2021.

Danny Marzka

EOS IT Solutions brought on Marzka in May as vice president of sales, according to his LinkedIn account.

Marzka joined the Pflugerville, Texas-based company—a member of CRN’s 2024 MSP 500—after more than five years with NTT, according to his LinkedIn account. He left NTT with the title of solution sales vice president.

His resume includes about a year with Katalyst Network Group. He left Katalyst in 2018 with the title of director of engineering.

Elsa Wilson

Wilson returned to TTEC Digital in May, taking on the role of vice president of sales leadership, according to her LinkedIn account.

Wilson returned to the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based company—No. 89 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after a brief stint with USAN, according to her LinkedIn account. She left USAN with the title of head of alliance and partnership.

She previously served as TTEC’s executive director of global partner strategy. Her resume includes more than two years with Amazon Web Services. Wilson left AWS in 2022 with the title of marketplace channel account manager.

John Hill

Hill joined EPAM Systems in May as vice president and market lead for Texas and Oklahoma, according to his LinkedIn account.

Hill came to the Newtown, Pa.-based company—No. 22 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after about a year with Redaptive, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Redaptive with the title of vice president of strategic partnerships.

His resume includes about nine years with Slalom, leaving the company in 2023 with the title of general manager.

Jamie Musson

Peraton hired Musson in May as vice president of process improvement and compliance, according to her LinkedIn account.

Musson came to the Reston, Va.-based company—No. 23 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after more than three years with DXC Technology, according to her LinkedIn account. She left DXC with the title of director of finance systems and processes.

Her resume includes more than a year with Mitre. She left the organization in 2021 with the title of assistant controller.

Emilie Colker

Avanade hired Colker as its new chief creative officer in May.

Colker came to the Seattle-based company—No. 37 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after more than six years with Ideo, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Ideo with the title of partner.

Her resume includes more than eight years with Pearson and GlobalEnglish, according to her LinkedIn account. Pearson bought GlobalEnglish in 2012. Colker left Pearson in 2018 with the title of vice president of global marketing and social impact.

Mikki Williams

C1 has a new vice president of total rewards after hiring Williams in May, according to her LinkedIn account.

Williams joined the Bloomington, Minn.-based company—which rebranded from ConvergeOne last year and is No. 40 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after about a year as a mergers and acquisitions human resources consultant, according to her LinkedIn account.

Her resume includes more than 18 years with Computershare. She left the company in 2023 with the title of global head of benefits.

Jesse Okerlund

GTT hired Okerlund in May as its vice president of enterprise sales, according to his LinkedIn account.

In this role, he has “sales and revenue responsibility for the Western Region in the Enterprise segment at GTT,” according to his LinkedIn account.

Okerlund came to the Arlington, Va.-based company—No. 51 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after about 18 years with Lumen Technologies and predecessor companies. He left Lumen with the title of senior director of client strategy.

Thomas Reed

New Era Technology brought on Reed in May, hiring him as vice president of resolution support services, according to his LinkedIn account.

Reed joined the New York-based company—No. 53 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after more than a year with Connectbase. He left Connectbase with the title of vice president of customer operations, according to his LinkedIn account.

His resume includes more than a year with New England Network Solutions. He left NENS in 2021 with the title of vice president of service delivery.

Aaron Bedrowsky

In May, General Dynamics IT hired Bedrowsky as senior vice president of the intelligence and Homeland Security division, according to his LinkedIn account.

The division has “a $3B+ P&L with more than 4500 employees supporting the Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, and DoD/Military Intelligence organizations across the Federal Government,” according to his LinkedIn account.

Bedrowsky came to the Falls Church, Va.-based company —No. 14 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500—after more than 23 years with Leidos and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), according to his LinkedIn account. SAIC and Leidos split from the same company in 2013.

He left Leidos with the title of senior vice president of enterprise transformation and performance excellence. Bedrowsky started his career as a cryptologic technician and intelligence specialist in the U.S. Navy.

Gerry Leitão

Leitão joined Kyndryl in May as vice president of applications in data and AI, according to his LinkedIn account.

Leitão came to the New York-based company—No. 9 on CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 —fter about four years with IBM, from which Kyndryl spun out in 2021. He left IBM with the title of partner and global AI automation offering and practice leader.

His resume includes about two years with Hitachi Vantara, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company with the title of vice president and head of managed cloud services and global delivery.
