30 Notable IT Executive Moves: August 2022

Avaya, Intel, Google Cloud, Pure Storage, Skyhigh and CoreSite were among the tech companies to make executive hires during the month.

A new Avaya CEO, a chief marketing officer of Intel’s Network and Edge Group (NEX) and a global vice president of cybersecurity sales at Google Cloud are among the major IT executive hires of August 2022.

Alan Masarek, formerly of Vonage; Muneyb Minhazuddin, formerly of VMware; and Dominick Delfino, formerly of Nutanix, are just some of the names featured on CRN’s August 2022 IT executive moves list.

Who changed jobs in June 2022?

Pure Storage, Skyhigh Security and CoreSite were among the other tech giants to make executive hires during the month as companies invest in resources for sales, technology and partners.

Those executives were Eva Tsai, formerly of Google; Scott Goree, formerly of Nutanix; and Andy Dray, formerly of Zayo Group.

The job changes come during a period dubbed the “Great Resignation” due to elevated rates of Americans quitting their jobs. The number of Americans quitting stayed flat in July, totaling 4.2 million quits, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The quits rate was 2.7 percent.

What follows are 30 notable IT executive moves from August 2022.

Alan Masarek

Alan Masarek became CEO of Avaya in August, replacing Jim Chirico.

Before joining the Durham, N.C.-based unified communications vendor, Masarek sat in the CEO seat for Vonage for six years and has been credited with pivoting the company away from a consumer-focused service provider with shrinking revenue to a cloud communications specialist serving business clients. He left Vonage in 2020.

Masarek’s resume includes more than two years with Google, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2014 with the title of director of Chrome and applications. He joined Google in 2012 with the acquisition of Quickoffice, a mobile productivity software company he co-founded in 2002.

Steven Bandrowczak

In August, Xerox made Steven Bandrowczak its permanent top executive after serving as interim CEO since June. His predecessor, John Visentin, died due to an unspecified illness at the age of 59.

The Norwalk, Conn.-based print and digital documents vendor offered Bandrowczak the CEO role, a seat on the company’s board of directors and a compensation package that includes an initial annual salary of $1 million.

Prior to Visentin’s death, Bandrowczak served as the company’s president and chief operations officer.

Before joining Xerox, he was chief operating officer and chief information officer at Alight Solutions for about two years, where he was responsible for global supply chain, shared services, product development and more, according to his Linkedin.

In 2016, Bandrowczak was president of telecommunications and technology at Sutherland Global Services, with a focus on next-generation BPO (business process outsourcing) services.

Bandrowczak was senior vice president of global business service and BPU as well as CIO of enterprise services IT at Hewlett-Packard between 2012 and 2016.

Dominick Delfino

Google Cloud hired Dominick Delfino in August as its global vice president of cybersecurity sales.

Delfino came to the Mountain View, Calif.-based cloud vendor after less than a year with Nutanix, according to his LinkedIn. He served as chief revenue officer of the company.

Prior to Nutanix, Delfino was CRO of Pure Storage for about one year, responsible for leading and growing the global sales organization and all routes to market. He was also responsible for defining new, differentiated go-to-market strategies. He left Pure Storage in 2021.

He spent six years at VMware in various top sales executive roles, including leading the entire sales organization for the America’s as general manager and senior vice president of the Americas. He was also senior vice president of worldwide sales for VMware’s Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) business. He left VMware in 2020.

Prashanth Shenoy

Prashanth Shenoy moved to VMware last month, taking on the role of vice president of cloud platform, infrastructure and solutions marketing.

Shenoy joined the Palo Alto, Calif.-based virtualization vendor after more than 22 years at Cisco, according to his LinkedIn.

At Cisco, Shenoy was global head of marketing for the company’s massive $25 billion portfolio of cloud infrastructure and software.

Chris Ward

Ingram Micro hired Chris Ward last month as director of global cloud technical services.

Ward came to the Irvine, Calif.-based distributor after less than a year with Deft, according to his LinkedIn. He left Deft with the title of vice president of delivery.

Before Deft, Ward worked at Connection for more than four years, according to his LinkedIn. Among his Connection accomplishments were doubling services business revenue to $70 million and gross profits to $20 million.

His resume includes a decade at GreenPages Technology Solutions,, including four years as chief technology officer driving technology strategy and vision.

Scott Goree

Scott Goree joined Skyhigh Security in August as its first-ever global channel chief.

San Jose, Calif.-based Skyhigh – a cybersecurity vendor formerly known as McAfee Enterprise – hired Goree from Nutanix.

Goree worked at Nutanix for more than a year, according to his LinkedIn. He left with the title of senior director and head of worldwide distribution sales and channel renewal sales.

Before working for Nutanix, Goree spent about two years with Pure Storage, according to his LinkedIn. At Pure Storage, he was “responsible for all aspects of global distribution including sales, marketing, operations & logistics” and “built the first ever distribution profitability program for Pure driving the fastest growing route to market.”

His resume includes more than 10 years with Cisco, according to LinkedIn. He left Cisco in 2019 with the title of enterprise networking and security lead for global distribution sales.

Ryan Barker

Ryan Barker joined Computer Design & Integration (CDI) last month as vice president of revenue optimization.

New York-based CDI – No. 47 on CRN’s 2022 Solution Provider 500 – has tasked Barker with focusing on revenue generation and scale across the entire global organization.

Barker has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry in engineering and leadership roles, according to his LinkedIn. He came to CDI after more than 14 years with Dell Technologies and EMC, which Dell bought in 2016.

Barker’s title with Dell when he left the company was senior director and lead for East enterprise presales, according to his LinkedIn.

Lisa Miller

Lisa Miller became senior vice president of platform alliances at Equinix last month, according to her LinkedIn.

In this role, Miller provides “vision, thought leadership, and execution for the global Equinix Platform Alliance strategy” and “is responsible for alignment of the technical and go-to-market partnerships to grow solution reach globally, accelerate new business and drive revenue growth in key markets across all selling motions - sell-to, sell-with and sell-through - with the Equinix Platform Alliance partners,” according to her LinkedIn.

Before Miller joined the Redwood City, Calif.-based data center services provider, she was president and chief operating officer of Spearhead Advisors for more than a year, according to her LinkedIn.

She previously worked at CenturyLink – now called Lumen Technologies – for more than two years, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company in 2020 with the title of president of the wholesale, indirect and small and medium business segments.

Her resume includes more than 11 years with Level 3 Communications. Miller left Level 3 in 2017 with the title of senior vice president of wholesale and alternate channels and the Asia Pacific region.

Vivian Muehlen

Vivian Muehlen joined Pax8 in August, taking on the role of vice president of the Microsoft global alliance, according to her LinkedIn.

Muehlen came to the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based distributor after about three years with Synnex and the recently merged TD Synnex, according to her LinkedIn. She left TD Synnex with the title of senior director of strategic alliances and partners.

Her resume includes about two years with Lufthansa Industry Solutions, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company in 2020- with the title of vice president.

Ankush Chowdhary

Hewlett Packard Enterprises hired Ankush Chowdhary in August as vice president and chief information security officer for cloud services, according to his LinkedIn.

Chowdhary came to the Houston-based tech giant after about two years with Google, according to his LinkedIn.

At Google, Chowdhary was responsible for explaining “the Google Customer Platform (GCP) security function, governance, and capability of Google Cloud to meet material workload requirements” and recommending “integration strategies, governance methods, enterprise security architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.”

In 2020, he briefly served as director of technology and strategy and a chief technology officer for Microsoft in Singapore, according to his LinkedIn.

Before Microsoft, he worked at Amazon Web Services for more than three years. He left AWS in 2020 with the title of regional leader for security and compliance business acceleration, according to his LinkedIn.

His resume includes more than five years with IBM. He left IBM in 2016 with the title of head of cyber security architecture for the Asia Pacific region, according to his LinkedIn.

Chris Undernehr

Last month, Chris Undernehr joined Microsoft in a corporate vice president role.

Undernehr came to the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant after more than 24 years with Walmart, according to his LinkedIn.

His most recent title with Walmart was head of strategy and product management for global technology platforms, according to LinkedIn.

In this role, Undernehr led “an organization that continually manages the Platform portfolio capabilities to support Walmart‘s evolving needs” and was “responsible for collaboratively building the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle processes for delivering scalable solutions to Walmart.”

Rajan Chawla

In August, Rajan Chawla joined Oracle, taking the title of vice president of enterprise transformation and value realization, according to his LinkedIn account.

Chawla came to the Austin, Texas-based database services giant after more than seven years with Capgemini, according to his LinkedIn. Chawla left Capgemini with the title of North America data and analytics leader.

During his time with Capgemini, he served as Oracle analytics practice head for North America, according to his Linkedin.

Grant Marshall

Mitel hired Grant Marshall in August as vice president of supply network and operations, according to his LinkedIn.

At the Canada-based telecommunications vendor, Marshall will “Manage Supply Chain capabilities” and “Lead the Supply Chain planning, manufacturing, logistics, quality and hardware introduction teams,” according to his LinkedIn.

Before joining Mitel, Marshall worked at Nokia for more than eight years, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company with the title of vice president of supply network and engineering.

In this role, he managed “all Manufacturing and Logistics capabilities” with a “main focus to bring Industry 4.0, Lean, automation, and Digitalization strategies to Nokia Manufacturing, Warehousing and Distribution locations both internal and external.”

Kahly Berg

SAP hired Kahly Berg in August as its senior vice president of digital experiences, according to her LinkedIn account.

Berg joined the Germany-based business operations software giant after more than a year with Designit. She left Designit with the title of head of the Americas region. In this role, she had 350 employees and built “best-in-class capabilities across design, marketing and engineering.”

She delivered “15% YoY growth across an Enterprise client base within 8 core industries” and partnered with Wipro “to develop the first off-shore delivery center for experience offerings with 100 employees by the end of 2021,” among other accomplishments, according to her LinkedIn.

She spent more than seven years with Rational, becoming the company’s CEO and executive managing director in 2019 and leading its 2020 acquisition by Wipro.

Under her watch, Rational “integrated agency and consulting business lines to allow higher growth of overall service offerings resulting in $47.5M in revenue and 15% EBITDA” and “improved the overall effectiveness of the business through a restructuring of capabilities and delivery into 7 core practices across strategy, marketing, creative, technology, data, retail, and customer lifecycle.”

Berg’s resume includes more than five years with Microsoft, according to LinkedIn. She left Microsoft in 2011 with a role in audience marketing.

Sirali Kewalramani

ServiceNow hired Sirali Kewalramani last month as vice president of global sales and strategic partnerships, according to her LinkedIn.

Kewalramani came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based IT service management software vendor after more than four years with Microsoft, according to her LinkedIn. She left Microsoft with the title of senior director for the strategic partnerships team (SPT) and worldwide commercial business.

Before Microsoft, Kewalramani worked at AppDynamics for more than a year. She left the company in 2018 with the title of enterprise sales leader.

Muneyb Minhazuddin

Last month, Muneyb Minhazuddin joined Intel as chief marketing officer of its Network and Edge Group (NEX), according to his LinkedIn.

“After spending a lot of time on Edge I truly believe that Edge is the next evolution of Cloud,” Minhazuddin wrote on LinkedIn. “I have come to realize that unlike Client server and Cloud native architecture that were built around a compute fabric, Edge compute will actually be built on a distributed network fabric.”

He continued: “NEX at Intel has brought together the right technologies across Connectivity, Enterprise Networking, Telco, Edge Compute and IOT hence perfectly positioned to lead the industry in this new market.”

Minhazuddin came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker after more than 10 years with VMware, according to his Linkedin. He left VMware with the title of vice president of edge computing and private 5G.

During his time at VMware, he helped create “new categories like SDDC, Multi-Cloud, Intrinsic Security, Tanzu and Edge-native-apps,” according to his LinkedIn.

His resume includes more than 11 years with Avaya, according to LinkedIn. He left the company in 2012 with the title of chief technology officer.

Raj Shirsolkar

In August, Raj Shirsolkar joined Dell Technologies, taking on the role of chief technology officer for strategic partnerships, according to his LinkedIn.

In this role, he will focus on “strategic leadership driving technical liaison and partnership between Dell product/engineering teams and the partner community to further drive Dell tech value creation,” according to his LinkedIn.

He came to the Round Rock, Texas-based tech giant after more than seven years with Virtustream, according to his LinkedIn. He left Virtustream with the title of senior director of cloud platform.

In this role, he led and managed “Network, Compute, Storage & Backup team which are responsible to maintain and provide day-to-day operations and Engineering of Virtustream cloud infrastructure,” according to his LinkedIn.

His resume includes about three years with Blackboard, according to his LinkedIn. He left Blackboard in 2015 with the title of senior manager of infrastructure operations.

Gary Abad

In August, Gary Abad returned to LogRhythm, taking the title of vice president of global channels, according to his LinkedIn.

Abad came to the Boulder, Colo.-based cybersecurity vendor after about a year with Trustwave, according to his LinkedIn. He left Trustwave with the title of vice president of global channels and alliances.

His previous stint with LogRhythm lasted more than four years, according to his LinkedIn. He left LogRhythm in 2020 with the title of senior director of channel sales.

Eileen Brooker

Last month, Palo Alto Networks hired Eileen Brooker as vice president of worldwide go-to-market training and enablement, according to her LinkedIn.

Brooker came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based cybersecurity vendor after more than three years with Informatica, according to her LinkedIn. She left Informatica with the title of global vice president for global sales enablement, strategy and digital sales.

She previously worked at Proofpoint for more than two years, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company in 2018 with the title of vice president of global sales enablement.

Her resume includes about 12 years with Extreme Networks, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company in 2016 with the title of executive vice president of sales for global enterprise, alliance and original equipment manufacturers (OEM).

Eva Tsai

Eva Tsai joined Pure Storage in August, taking on the role of vice president of product management for digital products, according to her LinkedIn.

She came to the Mountain View, Calif.-based data storage vendor after more than three years with Google, according to her LinkedIn. She left Google with the title of executive director. In this role, she led “strategy, planning, resourcing, measurement and culture across Google Cloud Marketing.”

Her resume includes less than a year with Algolia as chief marketing officer, according to LinkedIn. She left Algolia in 2018.

At Algolia, she built “worldwide marketing from the ground up” and “created content marketing and demand generation engine to increase marketing-sourced pipeline 2-3X annually and move the company upmarket to executive buyers.”

Tsai previously worked at vArmour for more than four years, leaving in 2017 with the title of chief marketing officer and general manager of the digital business, according to her LinkedIn.

Kapil Bansal

In August, SHI International hired Kapil Bansal as senior vice president of hardware solutions and services, according to his LinkedIn.

Bansal came to the Somerset, N.J.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2022 Managed Service Providers 2022 – from Nokia.

He worked at Nokia for more than six years, leaving with the title of vice president of strategy and business transformation, according to his LinkedIn. At Nokia, he managed the “project portfolio, developed trusted partnerships and led engagements to enable corporate financial targets.”

Tat Ng

Tat Ng joined One Identity in August as vice president of engineering, according to his LinkedIn.

Ng came to the Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based identity security vendor from Degreed, according to his LinkedIn. He worked at Degreed for about a year and left with the title of senior vice president of engineering.

He previously worked at Ease for more than a year, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2021 with the title of vice president of engineering.

Before Ease, Ng worked at Stellar Labs for more than three years, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2020 with the title of vice president of engineering.

Todd Golden

In August, Todd Golden founded Rockhop, a Denver-based Microsoft partner business he leads as CEO, according to his LinkedIn.

His company helps customers “achieve measurable business impact through application reconciliation and performance improvement, exposing and connecting data, rapid application development, application governance and ongoing performance management,” according to his LinkedIn.

Before founding Rockhop, Golden worked at SoftwareOne for more than seven years, according to his LinkedIn. He left SoftwareOne as a sales and marketing leader for its Goatpath brand.

His resume includes more than four years with Perficient, according to his LinkedIn. At Perficient, he led “the Sales and Alliance team for the Microsoft practice” and developed “strategic business relationships, with customers and partners, that enhance the company’s market offerings and drive growth.”

Golden also co-founded PointBridge Solutions and worked at the company for about eight years . He left the company in 2012 with the title of partner, according to his LinkedIn.

Andrea Snader

Andrea Snader joined ICF International in August as vice president of growth for its business with the United States departments of health and human services and defense, according to her LinkedIn account.

Before she joined the Fairfax, Va.-based publicly traded technology services provider – whose partners include Salesforce, Appian, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft – Snader worked at Concept Plus for more than two years, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company with the title of vice president of business development.

In this role, she led the “business development team including Solution Architects, Proposal Managers, and BD/Capture Executives” and grew the company’s accounts for the U.S. Air Force and other government agencies.

Jesse Williams

Concept Plus hired Jesse Williams in August as vice president of United States Department of Defense business development, according to his LinkedIn.

He joined the Fairfax, Va.-based technology services provider – whose partners include Oracle, Amazon Web Services and Snowflake – after about a year with PIT Associates, according to his LinkedIn. He left IPT with the title of director.

Williams’ resume includes more than two years with Definitive Logic, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2021 as director of the departments of defense and veterans affairs business.

In this role, he “won 9 out of 12 proposals submitted in 18 month sales cycle” with “total contract value exceeding $100m in new business.”

Martyn Etherington

Martyn Etherington joined BMC Software in August, taking on the title of senior vice president and chief marketing officer, according to his LinkedIn.

He came to the Houston-based automation software vendor after more than three years with Teradata, according to his LinkedIn. He left Teradata with the title of executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

In this role, he “led Teradata‘s User Experience transformation delivering a modern and intuitive experience across its entire portfolio of offerings” and “spearheaded the development of Teradata’s first integrated operating model for demand and opportunity management across marketing and sales,” according to his LinkedIn.

Etherington’s resume includes more than a year with Cisco Jasper, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2017 with the title of chief marketing officer.

He also worked at Mitel Networks for more than two years, leaving the company in 2015 with the title of executive vice president, chief marketing officer and chief of staff.

Jason Zolczynski

Navisite hired Jason Zolczynski in August as vice president of Oracle applications, according to his LinkedIn.

In this role, Zolczynski leads “Navisite‘s pro services team specializing in Oracle Applications - JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, E-Business Suite, and Oracle Database” and “provides customer engagement, strategic planning and sales enablement,” according to his LinkedIn.

Before joining the Andover, Mass.-based IT services provider – whose partners include Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google Cloud, Oracle, SAP and VMware – Zolczynski worked at Fishbowl Solutions for more than three years. He left the company with the title of director of services.

His resume includes about two years with TekStream Solutions, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2018 with the title of engagement director.

Tony Meyer

In August, Tony Meyer joined Ventech Solutions, taking on the role of senior vice president of growth for global services, according to his LinkedIn account.

In this role, Meyer “spearheads strategic growth initiatives that are consistent with Ventech‘s overall strategy and focuses on revenue generation and strategic partnerships development and management,” according to his LinkedIn.

Before he came to the Columbus, Ohio-based services provider – whose partners include Amazon Web Services and Trend Micro – Meyer worked at Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) for more than a year, according to his LinkedIn.

He left SAIC with the title of director of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs business. This role involved business development, revenue generation and strategic partnership development.

Meyer joined SAIC with the 2021 acquisition of Halfaker and Associates for $250 million. He had worked at Halfaker for more than three years prior to the acquisition, according to his LinkedIn.

Garrett Yee

Garrett Yee joined General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) in August as vice president and general manager of its Army sector, according to a statement.

Yee’s responsibilities include “driving growth and innovation and meeting customer needs, including providing specialized technology solutions and services in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, 5G and high-performance computing that improve the security, effectiveness and efficiency of our nation’s warfighters,” according to the statement.

He joined the Falls Church, Va.-based company – No. 12 on CRN’s 2022 Solution Provider 500 – after more than eight years in the United States Army, according to his LinkedIn. He retired with the rank of major general.

Yee’s most recent role in the army was assistant to the director of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which involved “providing executive leadership for the agency’s $13 billion information technology portfolio” and leading “the agency’s 19,000 military, civilian and contract workforce that provides IT support to the president, secretary of defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, combatant commanders, and Department of Defense components,” according to the GDIT statement.

Andy Dray

Last month, Andy Dray joined CoreSite and took on the role of vice president of client services, according to his LinkedIn.

Before he came to the Denver-based company – No. 57 on CRN’s 2022 Solution Provider 500 – Dray worked for about three years at Zayo Group, according to his LinkedIn. He left Zayo with the title of senior director of customer success.

In this role, he led “the Strategic Customer Success organizational paradigm shift toward a differentiated, highly proactive experience,” according to his LinkedIn.

Dray’s resume includes more than two years with Spectrum Enterprise. He left Spectrum in 2018 with the title of senior director of client experience insights, according to his LinkedIn.

He also worked at Level 3 Communications for more than 16 years. He left Level 3 in 2016 with the title of director of global customer experience, according to his LinkedIn.
